Our waitress was excellent. She allowed us to create our own pizza! Our steak, ravioli and salmon were delicious. No rush to flip the table. And, someone offered me a glass of pineapple juice to stop my sneezing fit! We will be back.

All around excellent, in food quality, originality, service and friendliness. I would argue that the “gnudi” served on Christmas Eve were closer to ricotta gnocchi, so the chef might want to rethink naming the dish. Perhaps it was an oversight. My only other beef is that it’s a tad overpriced. Still, I would recommend Zio to any foodie in search of reasonably good Italian food in the Flatiron locale.

Visited Zio for a friends birthday and i can not say enough about the food! The atmosphere excellently blends formality with youth. We loved watching the cooks at work in the open kitchen. The service was personable yet professional and we were greeted by the charming owner soon after arrival. This place will soon take off so be sure to try it while you can still get a reservation.

Excellent vibe. I went there for a work reunion so I didn't taste the main dishes, only appetizers but they were good and the wine was really good. Their service was excellent. Loved the way it was set up with so many tables and different boots and chairs. The place was hip but casual so it wasn't over the top.

Poor service, but decent food. The waitstaff is ill-trained, jumping in front of patrons as they walk about the restaurant, and rarely frequenting tables to offer service. I cannot blame the waiters, however, as the restaurant is utterly understaffed. Update: I gave the restaurant another shot, and was very pleased. It was on a slow Sunday, late afternoon. I found the waiters and bartenders to be very pleasant and attentive. Food was great, and their happy hour prices can’t be beat! I imagine the last time I went was just an unexpectedly busy time for the restaurant.

We had a big group of people, 13 to be exact. We waited about an hour for our food when our order was "put in" which it felt like they had forgotten. Besides that, the food was excellent, and the service was good but not great. Waiters kept forgetting some of our drink orders. There were other big groups there so perhaps it was a busy night.

We had our sister's birthday there. The food was fantastic, and the service was just as exceptional. I worked with Darren from the very beginning of planning the party from a distance, and he was helpful in every way. I contacted at least 7 places and I was so glad that someone recommended Zio to me. They are warm, helpful, and provide an wonderful experience.

The experience here is one of a kind. The first time i stepped in was the ambiance that drew me, it's cozy, yet elegant and busy enough that you feel the vibrancy all around you. Once inside I chose to sit at the bar - best life choice. The bartender (Jesus) is one of the nicest and amicable people you'll meet. With the right attitude you're in for a treat with some specialty drinks and one of Zio's own special blueberry shots. He's just the tip of the iceberg. After stopping by you'll soon see the staff, owners, and head Chef (Max) will treat you like family - such as Italian tradition calls for. If you're looking for a great happy hour, they have select wines and beers that will suit you and and phenomenal appetizer dishes. Ask for the bread with the red marinara sauce, with everything being made fresh - you won't regret it. I've never stepped into this place and left unhappy - the entrees and desserts are delectable.

This is definitely my favorite Italian restaurant in the city. It is very low key and has excellent service. You can always get a reservation on open table and street parking is easy around dinner time even during the week. On top of all these, the food is amazing.

Always great food, and incredibly attentive service at this place! Good, hearty, and creative menu options serve vegetarians and carnivores alike. My favorite is the mushroom risotto - creamy and tasty! But be careful, it will fill you up quickly!

Excellent service and the food was delicious! Loved their sundried tomato and garlic olive oil. We even got complimentary meatballs! Sparkling water was disproportionately expensive though.

A group of 5 ladies went to Zio Ristorante for our hightschool annual reunion/dinner on friday 5/15/15. We had reservations and upon arrival we were greeted and seated promptly. The restaurant ambiance was sophisticated fun and lively. We sampled several appetizers and they were all very tasty, My favorites were the sesame seed lobster cakes and the carpaccio salad. The portions were quite generous as well. One of my friends and I had the salmon for the main course and it was superb. My friends had the chicken parmigiana and they also raved about it. We finished our meal with dessert. We shared the tiramisu, chocolate semifreddo and the pannacotta. They were all scrumptious and so good. The highlight of our evening was when the owner of the restaurant Roberto stopped by to greet us. He was very attentive and congratulated us on our highschool reunion. He was kind enough to give us the appetizers, drinks and desserts complimentary. Definitely a great experience and will definitely come back again.

Good pizza and burrata and fun atmosphere but a bit loud. However our pasta dish was very bland and undercooked. Service is friendly and attentive. Just stay away from pasta dish..
