Lots of options ...big and small. Our large group settled in for a relaxed dinner with drinks on our first night in town. We ordered entrees and mains but no one wanted dessert as it was late.
Service was friendly and the food was really enjoyed.
Sushi, salad, pasta...lots of variety.
Please note that the meal was complimentary. However, the opinions expressed in my blog are 100% my own! . Todd English Food Hall at the Plaza in NYC, New York. Food and wine are two components that, with good company, contribute in making a meal a great experience. So, when a renown wine maker celebrates 80 years of wine making with a celebrity Chef, you can expect an amazing experience. And it is what I witnessed at Todd English Food Hall at the Plaza Hotel. I admit that I did not know when I arrived that Chef Todd English would be there and was surprised to see him talking to his staff when I entered in the restaurant. That place is beautiful, spacious, with a bit of a brasserie feel. I also liked the fact that there is lots of light in there, so you can see what you are eating and appreciate the work of the kitchen staff in preparing beautiful and colorful dishes.
After seeing a movie at the Paris theater yesterday evening, it seemed fitting to have a bite at the Plaza Food Hall since it was right opposite. I love this place with all the eateries and Todd English's restaurant where I have been a frequent visitor since it opened. One can sit anywhere at this large restaurant and order anything from the menu that comes from the other stations. Pizza is always a fun option as it can be shared. Pair that with a chilled Peroni beer and it translates into a smashing dinner! The best part of our meal this evening was that the server took our order prematurely so that we were given an oval classic pizza with sausage on half when we had decided on one with pepperoni. The manager kindly gave the second one to us on the house. Crisp, yet chewy, the crumbly sausage and wafer-thin pepperoni melted in the mouth. We left with a few pieces and a full stomach.
Recommended.
Fabulicious food, great service and it gets even better when you get to meet Todd English himself! The menu is extensive but the must has to be the fig and prosciutto pizza and the chicken dish! No question about it when in New York looking for a great casual dining experience head to the Plaza Hotel and the Todd English food hall.
The best restaurant I tried in NY. The staff are very friendly and the food was AMAZING. We tried the sweet potato, classic burger, steak taco, classic pizza, pasta and the Greek (salad) everything was delicious 😭❤️
Highly recommended 👍🏼
Hand Made Pasta, Applie Pie, Hand Made Ice Cream - Nut Free. Great service - no request was too much. Great steaks, pasta, pizza, desserts.... we loved it.
Great food choice, not sure if I like the order and pay system, but the good is top quality
Best Place. The food was great and place was very cool. I love it!
Harrod's in NYC! The food is wonderful and good prices. The added feature: it's great fun.
A lot to offer and very fast service. They have a great menu, the service was very fast. I got the Salmon 3 Way, which was delicious. It's a fun environment because you are seated in front of a different cuisine area. We were seated in front of the Sushi area, and we were able to talk to the chefs as they created their Sushi orders.
The Red Velvet Cake is a must order! The vanilla cream cheese icing was to die for!
This place was amazing! Located in the gorgeous Plaza Hotel on the lower level. It’s filled with fine cheeses, breads, pastries, coffees, seafoods and cafes. The Todd English Food Hall also hosts a fabulous dining facility that my daughter and I ate lunch at. She wanted something, fried shrimp, that was not on the menu. The waiter spoke to the chef who was most accommodating and whipped up a perfect meal made to order for her and she was beyond pleased. My meal was superb as well. The manager came over, introduced himself to us and made small talk with my 8 year old which I find very nice to include the little ones as they are people too obviously! Lol. I highly recommend this place ... right across from Central Park.
entertaining market like atmosphere and great food. high end pretentious clients abound. served quality sample with my salad everything was very tasty.
Ive going to the plaza food hall for years and i somehow stumbled upon their rotisserie wgich I've never seen before! I ordered a grilled fennel sausage on a pretzel roll. Of course it comes with sauerkraut and all sorts of condiments.
I chose dijon mustard and mayo. Overall a nice juicy sausahe. The roll was good - not one of those generic flavorless grocery store hot dog buns. And the best part was that they offer tart tangy cornichons!
Probably costs more than is strictly worth, but is pretty and has a great selection of fancy items.
Probably the finest dining experience in The Plaza Food Hall, though seating on high chairs is hardly comfortable at all. We watched our food be skillfully prepared, and it tasted better than it looked - the scallops were perfectly delicious, though the presentation was rather rustic.
Out of busy hours, the place was nearly empty, and not being met or greeted by anyone upon arrival we walked into the restaurant — and were a bit rudely asked to retreat and search for the hostess. For the rest of the evening, though, service was attentive and even friendly.
Well thought out dishes that are served perfectly. Always a great place to eat..
Excellent burger. I had the classic burger with sweet potato fries and I loved it. Well cooked, quality ingredients and delightful all together. Service is great and waiters are courteous. They went out of their way to make us happy. I'll definitely go again when I'm in New York again.
All staff was so professional and attentive. Anthony, our waiter, was great and really engaged in his job.
Burger was incredible and cooked up with true "grill" flavor. Pork dumplings were among the best I've ever had; they came out hot and freshly steamed, with a unique plum sauce (read: not jarred) and a hint of cilantro that elevated them to a striking flavor combo I'd never experienced before
This may be one of the most delightfully surprising and satisfying meals I've had in the city for quite some time now. After a day of light labor and lots of driving, we headed over to the Plaza Hotel Food Hall. In specific, we went into the Todd English Food Hall.
Considering all the delicious options at this destination, we were surprised to see such diversity in Todd English's dining menu. It included a complete raw bar, a medley of gourmet flat bread pizzas, burgers, salads, pastas and so much more.
The one thing that was quickly apparent was that everyone seemed to really be into their food. We ordered and shared three completely different dishes; Todd English Sliders with Parmesan Fries, a Sushi Platter and Fig and Prosciutto Pizza.
I had high expectations for the sliders and I was not let down. The Todd English sauce was a very nice addition on the side for dipping fries too. The Fig and Prosciutto Pizza was packed with figs and prosciutto and adorned with some julienned green onions. Every component of the pizza was top notch. Together, it was a party in my mouth. It went particularly well with the Pumpkin beer they had on draught.
The real jaw dropper during this excursion was the Sushi Platter. I cannot remember the last time I had sushi that was so immaculately prepared and presented. The order was massive, but we could not get ourselves to stop eating the delicious variety before us. If the sushi is always this good, I can see myself becoming a regular.
As someone whose favorite food is sushi, I can't even express how satisfied I was with this particular dish. Looking forward to my next visit.
We ate as a family..having mussels, greek salad salmon and harvest salad..mussels were a large serving as was the greek salad. The salmon was cooked perfectly as medium. The chicken on the harvest salad was the only thing not incredible! Our server, Boris was very attentive as well. Overall great experience! Price comparable to good eats in New York.
