I started following them on FB a while ago and just wanted to come here for lunch during our stay I will admit that I was a bit disappointed by the appearance of the place both in and out as I thought it would be bigger and a bit more modern but anyway we sat down and ordered. Well the food is lovely. It's also very nice because your plate isn't overloaded with other stuff that it takes away the flavours of your order. The food is freshly cooked and isn't greasy or soggy. We also ordered milkshakes and well......so tasty it was a shame when we had finished them. Thank you for serving us your food is highly recommended.
Ran across this place after visiting the MET with my son and stopped in eat lunch. Had burgers, onion rings and coconut cake. All delicious and service with a smile. Will return and recommend to others.
Overall I liked this place. Nice and relaxed atmosphere, and the traditional Coca-Cola float with vanilla ice-cream is a must if you are nearby. Food is good, we tried three different sandwiches (one with tuna, one with chicken and one with beef), but average. Nothing special, especially if compared to its quite high price.
Staff were super friendly.
The floats here taste just as good and cool as they look. I’m not sure how else to get a more authentic soda, so good luck trying. This place has been around almost 100 years and has the backbone to prove it. I felt pretty cool sitting somewhere that had so much history while also enjoying the best Cherry Coke Float I’ve ever had in my life. Thank you so much!
Amazing restaurant, they are very friendly but please note as the place is not that big you might need to wait for 5-10mins to be seated on a normal day or longer is there is line. Must try and my favourite is the old fashioned style of coke, with other options as well. One of the best sandwich I have in New York City too.
Have lived on the UES for 9 years and don't know why it took us so long to finally come to Lexington Candy Shop. Little bit of a wait (20 minutes) was well worth it. Food was delicious and the root beer float was next level amazing.
Typical American old school diner vibes with a bunch of breakfast and sweet options. Especially famous for their old-fashioned Cola including a scoop of vanilla ice cream, which tasted surprisingly good. You are eating enough calories for an entire week here, just as a fair warning. Right next to Tal Bagels, one of my favorite bagel spits in NYC
Lexington Candy Shop is a nostalgic oasis on the Upper East Side, a charming throwback to classic diners. The vintage decor and soda fountain counter evoke a bygone era, creating a unique and cozy atmosphere. The menu is a delightful journey through comfort food, with their milkshakes and old-fashioned sundaes stealing the show. It's not just a meal; it's a step back in time. If you crave a taste of retro New York charm and a sweet treat, Lexington Candy Shop is a hidden gem worth discovering.
I found this place online and had to try it! We went on a Sunday morning and feared a long waiting time but there were few people. We were seated and helped by a very friendly waitress. The place is so authentic, after having been to Starbucks, McDo etc. it was a real treat to be thrown back into time, enjoying a real american breakfast, with great service. The pancakes were huge and very nice, we could easily have shared them. A great experience on our last day in NYC. I hope this place never gets sold or changed! Highly recommended.
Delicious sandwiches!!! Highly recommend the Lexington special. Of course we got the coke and we thought it was less carbonated than usual which was interesting. Service was unfortunately not the greatest and we had to wait for our server to notice us for a while. Still a great institution to visit!
I'm not going to lie I want to go here to try the Coca-Cola made the old-fashioned way and we ended up staying for breakfast. The nostalgia of old school dinner was amazing
The owners must be big Coca cola fans. Lots of vintage cola there. Sandwich was excellent and the coke was great
The wait for a seat was no longer than 10min, despite there being a line outside. Easy to read menu, and they allow you to record/watch them making the Coca Cola even if you’re seated at the bar.
Semi-tight quarters if you’re worried about bumping into people
