Ever since the titular restaurant closed in The Four Seasons hotel several years ago New York has been missing out on a very special restaurant experience. Well no longer. L’Atellier de Joel Robuchon is back and in better form than ever. The rooms are both warm and exciting to be in and the vibe in the room keeps you even more looking forests tonthst next course! Sitting at the counter beside the open kitchen is the best way to go in my opinion. Observing with the highly professional staff and watching the choreographed genius occurring a few feet away makes for better theater then much that Broadway has to offer. The menu offers are myriad. We decided to try an ala carte selection so I can safely say that each of the following were utterly amazing and highly recommend them: salmon tartare with caviar, hamachi sashimi, roasted baby artichoke, seabream carpaccio, foie gras wagyu sliders, and grilled wagyu ribcap. Dessert: Blown sugar sphere lemon sorbet and a chocolate soufflés (so delicious and so fluffy and light it almost needed to be tied down to prevent it from floating off). That meal plus the amazing staff, beautiful room made our evening truly magical. The namesake restaurant is now back in NY for only 7 months and is a must for anyone who enjoys such dining. Great bar and drinks too before we ate. A+ !!!

At first I thought sitting at the bar was a bit odd, but it leads to awesome service and a great ability to chat with the staff about wine and food. We had the spring tasting menu, and the foie gras stuffed quail was one of the better dishes I’ve ever had. The wine list is excellent in both breadth and depth, but is very pricey (as expected for a restaurant like this). I’ve been to many Michelin 3 stars, and I’d say this is close to or equal to the best you’ll get in NYC now.

They served me one of the best meals that I had in a while. Just Amazing! I don’t like quail but since they recommended it I decided to give it a try. It was out of this world. Wow! Everything was exceptional. They have the best mashed potato that I ever had in my life. The only thing that can improve is the desert. Don’t get me wrong, desert was great, looked beautiful, and I enjoyed it but it wasn’t exceptional like everything else that they have. Well Done! I’ll be back.

Wonderful food and comfortable atmosphere. The staff was very attentive and made this meal a once in a lifetime experience. The wine pairings with the tasting menu were excellent. Our sommelier John and the beverage director Sabra both spent a lot of time with us explaining various options and making recommendations.

This place was amazing and honestly the pictures speak for themselves. I know not everyone likes to sit at bar seats to eat but if you like to watch the action in the kitchen, this is where you need to be. We came for a birthday celebration and got some. Nice additions!

Great service and pairings from the sommeliers accompanied the tasting menu, but the restaurant has yet to hit its stride in terms of service overall. We witnessed a more senior chef intimidate and aggressively criticize two different line cooks, and our server forgot to maintain the flow of our courses - resulting in a 30 minute intermission between our second and third dishes. The restaurant is abuzz with captains and servers flying around, which eliminates any real sense of intimacy in exploring all the exquisite flavors the kitchen staff bring to the plate. 1.5 stars for the wine and sommelier service, 1.5 stars for the food, and 1 star for the decor - one off for the poor service - though I'm curious to check out the separate bar area/menu another time.

High quality food, well presented. Reservations never required. Two restaurants in one, with a formal one, and casual one (that is rather formal as well). Up the stairs to the entrance, or up the wheelchair lift. Gender - specific bathroom, very clean and discreet. Beautiful wine list, and patrons.

Got seasonal tasting course for the dinner. The pre-appitizer muse was duck foie gras with foam, followed by six other course listed on the menu. Highlight was the salmon tartar, scallop and the wagyu beef. A very interesting experience but a bit more expensive than the value of courses. Bar seating was great, you can see how the food is prepared. Tips are included in the price.

Outstanding! The most memorable meal I have had in NYC. Now with the addition of Le Grill it is even better! The burger is best in the city and wine list is incredible. Great for nice afterwork drinks and a bite or special event dinners.

One of my favorite Michelin restaurants in NYC. Loved the tasting menu with the option to pick a dish from each category. The presentations and plating are also beautiful. There are spotlights above your dishes, great for photographing.
