Good food, friendly, good service, reasonable wine list, good decor, reasonable noise level even on a busy night, reasonably priced. We two foodies were pleased. Returned with two other foodies, all of us excellent home cooks, and we were all pleased.

After a visit to the recently reopened Cooper Hewitt, — a fun interactive design museum that brings out the kid in you — we stopped in at Paola’s for a glass of wine. I had come from a restaurant brunch tasting — that means multiple courses and dessert — so I just sipped the citrusy, dry, crisp Vernaccia di San Giminiano Vagnoni 2013 Toscano with a bit of minerality ($45).
Ordered some delivery to my place. The food got here really fast. The food was good but a bit too pricey. The ricotta ravioli was amazing. The papardelle of duck ragu was pretty good but not so much for the price. Had the tiramisu as a dessert and loved it.
Paola's Restaurant is the perfect spot for Italian Cuisine and the classic dishes of Rome on Manhattan's Upper East Side. It's lively, with a fun Upper East Side bar scene, excellent cuisine and inventive specials. Keep your eye out for celeb's including the Mayor. I have seen it happen! My favorites: The Carciofi, Truffle Agnolotti, Lemon tart and Puntarelle salad when in season.

I like to call Paola's a Upper East Side, Italian version of Pastis. The crowd is a bit older and much more "Upper East Side" instead of the trendy socialites that inhabit in the Meatpacking District, but Paola's looks like an Italian version of Pastis. L
I was not prepared for how amazing the food and experience would be. We ordered a shared appetizer and two entrees and the waiter KNEW we were going to share and offered to bring them out one at a time.
We had a wonderful meal and every item was prepared perfectly. We had the meatballs, ravioli and pappardelle and all of it was literally perfect bite and texture. Perfectly timed, perfectly prepared. Can’t rave enough except to rue my lack of appetite for dessert <3
Paola’s is a fabulous upscale restaurant that recently relocated from Madison Avenue to Lexington Avenue. Let me break down our most recent meal. We started off with the warm mozzarella which is hands down the best in the city. The portion is a bit small but the taste makes up for it. We also started with the Arugula Salad which is always very good. For main courses we ordered the salmon, branzino, the veal and the pesto which we got to share. Both fish dishes were a relatively big portion and were very tasty. The veal was small but tasted really great and so did the potatoes that came along with it. Finally, the pesto was a pretty small portion, but very good. For dessert, the cappuccino was just the right size however it could have been a little warmer. We also got the tiramisu which was so so good. Finally the biscottis were just the right thing to top off the fabulous meal. Overall a great experience. 5 stars.
The service was excellent. My date wanted to have fettuccini Alfredo, which was not on the menu, but the server kindly asked the kitchen to do it for us, which shows how they cared about going above and beyond for the customers. Very sweet staff, will come back.
I really like it, when a restaurant accommodates my requests and goes beyond the printed menu. I believe this is one of the factors that make the restaurant stand out from others.
At Paola's, I asked for a cheese plate. It's what I wanted for my lunch with desserts and coffee. Although the cheese plate is not on the menu, the server was open and gracious, and the kitchen was able to present a pretty dish, with honey that had truffles in it.
I totally enjoyed my food, the lively background music, and the efficiency of the servers.

One of the true treasures of New York dining, Paola's has existed in some for for over 30 years serving not only truly fine Italian food, but warmth and cheer. Worth a trip from downtown for those of you who rarely venture past 14th street!
Had the Trofie Genovese (pasta with fresh pesto) which was good but the Paparadelle with duck ragu was the star dish, perfectly tender and thin.
I was shockingly surprised to find such a proper Italian restaurant next to Central Park.
The atmosphere was very nice, the food was on point and the wine too.
I would recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy the traditional Italian cuisine.

The pasta was made as it should be and blend's perfectly into the excellent sauces.

Their Latin immigrant waiters conduct themselves towards Latin customers with an inappropriate overfamiliarity. Their vegetable soup is packed with potatoes. My spouse loved their ravioli. There was a water filtration dripping onto our table. Moved to another table.
I felt at home the moment I walked thru the door. Wonderful staff & delicious food! Spoke with Fabrizio on the way out. I can't wait to go back !
