Visited twice and was blown away every time. Bobby Flay knows how to play with tastes and textures and what's better than his take on Mediterranean food? The result is always great and executed perfectly. Atmosphere is splendid and there's always a good vibe. Be sure to try the cauliflower, buratta and the acorn squash.

Everything we tried was really good and worth it. The grilled octopus was our favorite starter, highly recommended. Great service from the staff and excellent setting to have some drinks. Be sure to make a reservation. I would say the only downside was the price of their cheapest wine (close to $60)

Let's start with the ambiance. Very romantic setting yet casual for a fun night out with friends. Our waiter James was beyond incredibly attentive and extremely helpful with the menu. Everything from the appetizers to the dessert was delectable. Must try the scrambled eggs appetizers. The explosion of flavors with every bite was unbelievable. It was amazing to be able to taste all the different components in each bite. I highly recommend it if you're okay with fine dining and not concerned about prices. My husband and I are definitely planning to go back. Bravo Bobby!!!

Ambiance is brick laced wall and trendy vibe. Food was incredible. A bit salty overall but very tasteful. Kale and Wild Mushroom Paella is a MUST!! The Porterhouse Pork Chop was unique w a ting of spice and curry taste. The roasted portobello mushroom appetizer also very flavorful. Roasted octopus was alright. Recommend the ambiance and location. The service was top notch and we had an exquisite evening

One of best dinning experiences I’ve ever had. Every dish here is incredibly good, with complex flavors and interesting textures. It’s an expensive restaurant but totally worth it if you feel fancy. I tried different kind of fishes and all were fantastic. The corn and cauliflower sides are amazing! I tried all the desserts and the best are the affogatto (if you are a coffee lover) and the lemon olive oil cake is to die for. The server forgot to bring us the appetizers before the entrees and apologized for that and decided to bring us double portions and didn’t changed us for them.

Everything about Gato is 5 star. The wait staff worked like one cohesive unit with the waiter being so knowledgeable, the food runners were fast and accommodating and the back wait staff kept the table clear and water filled, but were never obtrusive. We tried an insane amount of food and can not pick a favorite because it was all so good. We tried all of the bar dishes, 4 appetizers, 4 entrees and 2 vegetable dishes and 3 deserts. I am ashamed to tell you how many of us there were, so that's my secret. When you go, order and share, it is a great way to enjoy the menu. It was all great, but the must haves are the scrambled eggs, octopus, charred corn and the vegetable pallea. Plus the bar items. Go very hungry and be adventurous. Oh, and black pepper vanilla Gelato? Believe me, it works!

Beautiful restaurant, friendly attentive staff. food was uneven. some over salted, some undersalted. quality food but nothing was outstanding nor bad. amazing crunchy potato side. nice wines but cheapest wine being $65 is too limiting.

Bobby Flay is back on the NYC scene with a new Mediterranean restaurant that features a mixture of small and large plates, making it a good destination for a quick nibble or a full out meal. The first thing you'll notice when you enter is the delightful French ambiance of the space, high ceilings with rustic lamps, a spacious bar in the center and a window into the kitchen where you could see Mr. Flay himself working the line as he was training his team of chefs. Cocktails were solid, I tried several including the pomegranate sangria, the French 75 but the clear winner of best drink was the Lorenzo: a perfect mash of sherry, gin, st germain and muddled cucumbers that was both refreshing and delicious. The menu was a bit confusing at first, since the first section titled bar, involves selecting three items from a small tasting menu that reflects the larger dishes in the kitchen section yet the rest of the menu is not really tapas style. We went for the artichoke with quail egg and uni, a delicious treat that wasn't too greasy, a prawn with green mayo that was standard and the best one of all, fried eggplant with balsamic and manchego cheese. Once you've had your little teaser it's time to move on to the more traditional kitchen menu that features appetizers, vegetable sides and entrees. Highly recommend the lush and cheesy scrambled eggs served with tomato bread as well as the lamb sausage pizza with mint. For our mains, we went with the tarragon chicken which was cooked perfectly, bursting with seasoning and flavor while my guest went with the squid ink pasta and prawns which she said tasted literally like it crawled out from the ocean. Finally for dessert, went with an upside down apple tart (tarte tatin) that was a delightful finish to a solid meal. The one minor complaint was that the restaurant was still in soft open mode, so the servers were a bit overly attentive which became a tad annoying after awhile but once all the kinks are ironed out, this will likely be a regular destination. Bottom Line: A good place to bring a date or friends for dinner or drinks and a snack, Gato delivers some great Mediterranean flavors in an inventive manner.

We were curious to try a Bobby Flay restaurant and it didn't disappoint one bit. The pork chop was the best I've ever tasted, perfectly cooked. The beef was great, but needed more blue cheese. Dessert and drinks were perfect.

Fantastic food and service. Our server new the menu like he lived and breathed it. Drinks were so good and exotic. Can't wait for a trip a return trip. Save room for dessert.
