Great atmosphere. An upscale new American restaurant with fresh ingredients. We had the duck which is really good and fresh and a large portion and then we had the steak which did come out undercooked quite a bit and then honestly I didn’t love that they just threw it back on the grill and it came out all different sorts of cooked throughout. The french fries were very expensive and very cold, so that was a bummer if I had noticed before I probably would’ve sent them back. Good meal I’d probably come back, but the prices are high for what you’re getting.

My wife and I celebrated our 22 year anniversary at Gotham. We have been here several times. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming. The food and drinks are on point. If you are looking to celebrate a special event or just want exceptional food, drinks and service then Gotham is the place.
Went to Gotham for Xmas eve to enjoy their special dinner. A bit pricey coming from Paris - not sure how a Xmas eve special dinner would compare in other nyc restaurants - but we had a great experience, food was really good (albeit the steak was a bit salty to our taste) and the staff was super super nice and helpful and even went out of their way to give us tips for our stay in NYC. Would definitely recommend this place to have tasty food and a nice time in New York. Thanks very much for everything !
Outstanding experience! I give them my outmost recommendation.
First, we had a special occasion to celebrate and we highlighted this in our reservation.
The receptionist carefully reviewed the reservation notes and seated us accordingly. Joseph was a gem and set the tone for the evening.
This definitely elevated the experience from the first moment.
The service delivered by the waiters were perfect. I mean it perfect!
The food was delicious and the drinks was refreshing.
To conclude, would definitely love to come again And I definitely recommend it.
We decided to try a new place after our Broadway show, and I'm glad we did. We'd been looking at Gotham for awhile, but had never quite made it around for a meal. When we arrived, we were informed that it had been there for 40 years (guess we were a bit late to the party). With a name like Gotham, I envisioned dark walls with clandestine little alcoves and hushed whispers ala "The Dark Knight." Instead we were warmly greeted at the host table and led to the best seats in the house, slightly elevated with views of the restaurant, the live jazz trio at the front, and the bustling street outside. The restaurant has a clean aesthetic, with a decor that I can best describe as an updated art deco, with modern, vibrantly colorful and whimsical art adorning the walls. The light fixtures, which look like geometric sails with changing mood lighting colors, are scattered across the ceiling imparting an airy vibe.
We started with the kampachi crudo at the suggestion of our waiter, Danny. The light sweetness of the aji dulce gremolata combined with the creamy avocado, crisp cucumber, and fresh fish to create a bright, delicate dish. Very enjoyable.
Our main course was a monstrous 46 ounce tomahawk steak. It was served with mountains of shishito peppers and charred fat crumbles sprinkled on top. Perfectly tender and juicy, the flavor was complemented by the sweet and slightly smokey peppers, and the salty bite and crunch of the charred fat crumbles. The frites were crispy and salty, just like I like them, and balanced the bitter broccoli rabe. It was well worth the extended wait for the behemoth of steaks (and nice to have lunch already prepared for the next day).
We finished with a buttery and flaky sweet apple tarte tatin with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. My compliments to the pastry chef for this absolutely delectable dessert!
We had a great dining experience and would gladly return again.
Everything was great. I had the lobster risotto with squash soup, foie gras appetizer was extraordinarily sumptuous, and desserts were the flourless chocolate cake, apple pie, and key lime pie in a tart (the best choice).
This is now one of my fave restaurants in NYC! It was my first time there and the service and food was incredible! Loved the duck out of everything! The staff was very friendly too! Will be going again when I come back!
This redecorated Village stalwart shouts NYC and is a longtime favorite of mine. The space is vibrant and bright, with fresh decor and design elements including soft lighting, eye catching artwork and a tasteful color palette. My enthusiasm extents to the wonderfully prepared dishes that are flavorful and fresh. The bar scene is lively, and the contiguous lounge features a novelty, a bookcase with shelving that replicates the local street grid.
Enjoyed the setting and the extremely attentive and friendly staff. Professional Service at its best. We had the Tuna Tartar and then a varirty of mains. Food was good - but the Lobster stuck out - delicous ! Some nice wines on the menu - a bit too pricy calculated I think !
Food was overall good, besides an undercooked cavatelli at the bottom of the dish. The tuna, foie gras, and duck were delicious. Service was great and atmosphere was nice for a weekday night. Glad to see the restaurant bouncing back post-covid.
