Super fun and friendly bar staff. Try any if the Pisco cocktails and you'll be happy. They have coffee cocktails too! Not sure what to try first? Katie and Sam are there to help you out!
Great option for good tasting vegan food downtown. Just know that it’s more of a kitchen than a restaurant proper. Prices are a bit high relative to portion size, but vegans don’t early much anyway. Lots of spice, good flavor, although most dishes have a heavy peanut flavor - which is good, but could be a bit more variety. Excellent texture on the bao. I’d pass on the greens though. Spend your $8 on the dumplings over a plate of green beans 🙄
I love this place. I usually go early evening and never have a problem finding a good spot. Small menu but the food is GOOD. The prices are the best in the city.
This place was phenomenal. Ordered everything on the menu. The mushroom toast was mind blowing! All vegan!
Recently under new management and they are so nice! All of the food is AMAZING authentic Venezuelan snacks, drinks are great, and really cute vibe inside and with a roof top bar. Doesn’t really feel like a “hotel bar”. Is definitely it’s own thing.
Cute gem. I loved the atmosphere and the various seating areas. The menu is limited but they make up for it with quality. We almost ordered one of everything on the menu. The sweet potato & nighthawks dumplings were beyond incredible. I couldn’t get enough of the 50 cent happy hour dumpling—the side sauce was a nice touch to enhance the flavor. Sean also surprised us with a worthwhile gin drink. 3 orders of dumplings, bananas foster bao dessert, and a drink... $21 & it fed 2 people. I’m vegan so I’m thrilled I was able to eat more than salad while on my trip. Thank you!!!
A friend and I came here yesterday for dinner. We were told on arrival that the regular chef was out for an emergency, but they had brought in another vegan chef for a pop-up event to fill orders! The menu was totally different, unique, and delicious. We had a memorable, one of a kind experience. Kudos to the restaurant owners/staff for making it work instead of simply closing.
I came to Piscobar for a quick drink before dinner while in New Orleans for a conference. It was delightful. The bartenders were friendly and informative and i had a nice conversation with another patron. It is a very small space, but really nicely decorated. Overall, great drinks and great vibes. I tried to bring friends the next time i visited but they closed early. I guess because it is a small operation they just close when they slow down. So if you are going after 10, i would call first.
We had most items on the menu and they were all outstanding. Deep flavor, perfect amount of spice. The bar has a much more local vibe than other hotel bars. Courtyard is charming with a fountain in the corner and it’s open to pets. Prices are good too. I felt like I was back in the hip, laidback New Orleans of the 90’s.
Great food, great cocktails! We came specifically to this place because my husband is a vegan and our eating options in NOLA are limited. We ordered one of almost everything on the menu and were not disappointed! I (not vegan) loved the food, vegan or not. Our favorites were the thai noodles and the banana bao.
