Really great! Fabulous steak tacos, great rice/beans, came with two side salsas and chips - and incredibly reasonably priced! Definitely gonna go back ASAP.
Great little Mexican restaurant. Large menu and tasty food. I liked the Carne Assada. I would like to go back and have the margaritas and try more of this authentic Mexican food.
We stopped by Panchitas on a whim, and we didn't regret our decision! The complimentary chips and salsa/mole was delicious followed by tacos, quesadillas, and a specialty dish. The tacos aren't the typical americanized fare, but rather seasoned meat, onions, cilantro, and sauce... Tacos as they *need* to be. I highly recommend the al pastor and the pollo! The wife had a vegetarian quesadilla and equally raved about hers as well.
Overall- we were very happy with the choice we made. I was disappointed that the Thai place next door had just shut down their kitchen, but the tacos more than made up for it.
Fresh, authentic, delicious and so affordable. I grew up in San Diego and have a deep appreciation for Mexican food. I tried the fish tacos which came with beans and rice. Our friend recommended the "arbol" sauce, a deep red smokey chili pepper sause and it was excellent. This place gets a 10 out of 10.

Home Made Central American Cuisine. Since it was fourth of July and my husband had off from work we decided to visit on of our favorite parts of New Orleans Carrollton Avenue. We wanted some authentic home made Central American food so we went to Panchita's. It was about one thirty when we got there and the place was packed (we had to wait about five minutes for a table to come available). The menu is pretty large so it took us a fee minuets to decide while we ate tortilla chips and salsa. My husband ordered the tamal de barbacoa while I had the milanese de rus con papas. The food took about half an hour to be prepared but it was clear when it arrived that it was made to order and very authentic. We finished our meal by sharing a flan. I wish I lived closer so I could frequent this restaurant more!
Right down the street to my house. Love the carne asada! Must try it out!
Delicious Central American cuisine with a homemade quality and a large menu. The tacos al pastor were prepared with fresh pineapple. Good black beans and fried rice. The owner suggested flan for dessert. Nice presentation and it tasted great. We'll be back definitely.
I tried this place for the first time today and was absolutely impressed. Amazingly authentic and very tasty. I had the sampler platter so I got a little bit of everything. The queso fiesta is absolutely delicious. I will be back.
Summer Special. Anything on the menu listed from $8 - $10 is only $7.99 + tax this summer and that includes a large tea or fountain drink!
11am - 4pm every day!
Excellent dish presentation, my food( cheese enchiladas )was beautifully presented but bland, though not terrible. Margaritas were small but decent. Friendly staff.
I had the shrimp tacos it comes in three, with side of rice and beans. Had a Modelo to wash it down. Friend had the menudo and that was tasty, it’s not always on the menu. Came here around 11:30am. I will come here next weekend for the pozole and a cervza.
Empty plates, full stomachs, and warmed hearts. Do yourself a favor and eat here. If they have Garnachas avaliable, make that happen.
Oh my goodness! The food was delicious and the portions are very generous!! Couldn't finish my order it was so much to eat! Tried them on a whim and would gladly go back to eat there again!!! The writer's name is Cesar - make sure he wants on you. He was great!!
Great Mexican / Texmex restaurant. Cozy space, neat furniture, outdoor seating and right on the trolley line. Service was exceptional. Fast and attentive. Food exceeded expectations with tender steak and crisp fresh jalapeños.
Great food!!! Wow! I’m Mexican and from Texas and I can say this is AUTHENTIC Mexican food, better than anything I’ve ever tasted in Mexican restaurants in my lifetime. Small business and I’m proud to be supporting them. 🖤 highly recommend them. Try the chicken tacos!!!
Amazing flavors! Great staff and really amazing food. You won’t be disappointed with the beef fajita for sure. Sooooo good!

The service was good and our server was very friendly. The Tacos Suaves was very good and reasonably priced. I can highly recommend it.
Cheap and delicious. It has a become new tradition for my girlfriend and I to come here on Tuesdays for their taco specials, $2 each ($3 for seafood) and $6 margaritas. A family restaurant where the food is quick and the service is friendly. Best Mexican food I've had in New Orleans since moving from the south western side of the country. Get a side of the chilli oil if you're looking for an extra spicy experience!
