As a college student of UNO, so nice to have a little local Italian place right down the street.😊 For the area especially, pretty damn good.

Hmm. Definitely not bad, but not the best ever. Give it a shot.. I won't rave over East of Italy, but it's definitely not bad by any stretch. The food is pretty good and the wait staff is great. The place was immaculate and the decor was not what I expected from a restaurant in a small strip mall. Service was fast, food was hot, and it wasn't overly expensive. I think some improvement could be made with the food (more seasoning is really all it needs!), but I'm still happy to have restaurant options in the neighborhood.
The Cheese Bread and the sauce that comes with it was awesome! The Tomato Basil soup was awesome and the Humus (Medit) was also. The entree could benefit from a little more seasoning especially the potatoes and broccoli. Salmon was good. Really liked it overall though.
Food was exceptional. Waitress was delightful. A very nice place tucked away in the corner if a strip mall.
Everything I've ever had at East of Italy has been great! Try the Cajun pasta with crawfish.

Great catering service. I was coming from out of town for the first time to hold a 3 day event in the area. I used them all 3 days and the food was great and they couldn't have been more helpful. We had pasta for 70 and sandwiches and salads for 60. They made me look good. Thanks Jessie and your staff

Excellent. Ate here twice while in town, hard to find fresh healthy food in N.O. Had tilapia once, salmon once. Fresh broccoli & roast potatoes. Nice. atmosphere, friendly service and good prices
I just had lunch there an hour ago the service was great and the food was good as well. I will be back and wish more quality places like this was on this side of town. Great job East of Italy you have a new fan
Came here for lunch and it was unexpectedly amazing!
It's in a strip mall and this probably would have normally deterred me but my coworker loves this place. We got the Mediterranean hummus and shrimp skewers for apps and both were delicious. The hummus was much better than average. Pita was cooked perfect, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I got the small pizza, half Italian sausage and mushrooms and other half supreme. Both were really good! You can taste that it's very fresh ingredients and they have a very good cook. Two people got the salmon and both said that it was really good. We had two servers, one was in training, both were super sweet girls. The restaurant was very clean and kept up.
Overall, a great place and I will definitely be back!
Also, they had amazing lunch specials! $12 for chick parm and many many more.

I love this restaurant! And tge staff are always wonderful! They have a great lunch special. Cocktails are amazing and main menu food to die for! One of the best restaurants in New Orleans by far!

The food here is really good. The service can sometimes leave a lot to be desired. Overall, I would still recommend this location. Just be prepared to have to initiate contact with your waitresses for refills, additional orders, and more.
During this visit I ordered the Italian Sausage Flatbread (pictured below), the lunch order of spaghetti and meatballs, and a Shrimp Diavolo to go. The spaghetti and meatballs was still a large enough portion to be full from. You receive (2) meatballs, and a Ceasar salad on one plate. The flatbread appetizer was huge too.
It’s quiet and Qwaint. You’ll have to check it out! It’s a hidden gym in Gentilly.
The food is delicious and the staff is friendly and courteous. An amazing place to eat.
So every time I visit, I'm in the mood for pizza right? So naturally you'd think I would have tried it by now....nope! Everytime I end up ordering the strawberry salad. Every single time! It's just that good. It's a sickness I tell you.
