Bar Redux is the best! The owners and staff are awesome, it's very welcoming, and they book great shows. I've performed there several times and it's a great place to play. The food is good and the place is darling. One of my favorite bars in New Orleans.
Janya is a true soul sister. Super cool place filled with super cool stuff and the food is very well worth the visit too. She's the hostess with the mostest in the 9th ward <3
I mean how do you rate a dive bar? This place was a little rundown, with a courtyard and back that matched.
That said they had good drinks a good prices! The bartenders were friendly and attentive. I didn't end up trying the food because we were there for an art show where several different artists brought their work. There happened to be a free buffet so I skipped the paid food.
Definitely a local type place. We went with one of our friends who is local and saw a few more while we were there.
This is a true funny place. Late night stop for some food. The jerk chicken sandwich was awesome. People were friendly and eclectic. Great experience.
Reluctantly posting a review about the best hidden gem dive bar in all of New Orleans. The service is top tier, the events are master class, and the good doesn't deserve to slap as hard as it does. They literally have one of my favorite kitchens in town and I occasionally go there just for food.
I’ve gone out there a few times to hang out in their back bar/patio. Very cool vibe. Very relaxing.
I enjoyed the laid back deep dive feel of this mom and pop owned shop. Simple but delicious jerk chicken tacos and a creole rub wings plate were my fare, and the mixed drinks were none too shabby. But the funnest part was relaxing, playing chess with myself, some fairly decent standup comedy with a few laughs in a relaxed setting with no pretensions. Just what i needed for a simple night to myself.
Might be my favorite spot in the area. They have a solid food menu, live music, and an interesting crowd. Big backyard area. I liked the jerk chicken.

Awesome place — great music, people and vibe.
One of the best local dives in the Bywater. Very unique outside seating, with the occasional train coming by, adding a truly New Orleans type experience to the funk and nostalgia New Orleans has to offer. Cheap drinks, excellent bar food, and an excellent mixture of eclectic locals which makes for great people watching. Definitely a local gem.
I love this place! If you want some Bourbon St vibe. This is not for you. It's such an awesome chosen family kind of bar.
