This place is delicious! We tried a bunch of different things on the menu and lived them all. We also ordered a bottle of Rose with our dinner which was very good. Great atmosphere and very cool building. The only downfall is the service. There was a lack of staff and they seem flustered and were also rude at times. The food took a while to come as well as our drinks, napkins and silverware. Would love to go back and try more but hope the service improves.

Crazy great speakeasy. It would be easy to miss this place -- a narrow space tucked away on a very quiet part of Lafayette St. (no parking on that block or the next). The sign is small.

One of my favorite finds in awhile. The menu was wildly creative and more than delivered on its promises. My oxtail pot pie was utterly delicious and unique, and came with some sweet potato chips (the sweetness pleasantly cut with some hot pepper). My side of brussel sprouts (in a coconut creme!) were the best I have ever had. My wife's hummus small plate was excellent. My friend gushed over his burger.

The cocktails were all large and tasty and very unique.

The atmosphere was romantic and appropriate to the historic space. Service was friendly and competent.

Great use of an old building. Stopped in for happy hour on Friday. Impressed with the classic cocktails. Came back for their first brunch on Saturday. The fizz menu made it. The pimento cheese biscuits with bone marrow butter were one of the best dishes we had in NOLA. I'd bathe in bone marrow butter if it was socially accepted. Will be back.

One of the finest places in town to enjoy a few cocktails off the beaten path in a intimate authentic setting. I recommend arriving for the 4-6pm week day happy hour to have your pick of seating and $8 classic cocktails. The small platea were interesting amd well executed, although the redfish left me wishing I would remember to only order this at places that specialize in grilled fish. Oh well you cant aways get everything you want. Oh and its worth noting that the table service was excellent. Always there when we needed something and never looming when not. She was courteous and friendly. Highly recommend giving this place a try.

Great restaurant tucked away in an alley in the financial district. The interior is warm and inviting, making the dinner a relaxing experience. Went in for happy hour followed up by dinner. Started with a Boulevardier, a rye whisky drink and the went to my favorite, an old fashioned. Next, I had the sambal glaze brussel sprouts. The glaze really set it apart from other brussel sprouts I've tasted at restaurants in the last year. For dinner I had the bone in pork chop with cajun au jus and smashed potatoes. The meat was perfectly cooked as well as seasoned wonderfully. As I was finishing up Chef Tony walked by and I told him how well prepared the chop was. He suggested the begniets for desert. The came on top of a chocolate hazelnut sauce really giving them some pop. In all, the dinner was great and we'll presented. The restaurant is warm and comfortable, the prices reasonable, and my server Molly was attentive and personable. Great find.

Such a fun, laid back bar/restaurant in a gorgeous building that is quintessentially NOLA, previously housing a brothel. Such interesting history! Chic decor, chill music and excellent staff. You MUST try the fried oysters! Bold taste and meaty texture made them some of the best oysters I've ever had. I wanted to lick the plate clean. Their cocktails are also top notch! Definitely a must visit.

We didn’t even have a full meal here but it turned out to be one of our favorite places so far. If you eat only one thing in New Orleans, let it be their Crawfish Mac and Cheese. Served piping hot in a skillet, its ooey gooey goodness will burn into your memory. Their citrus salad is epic, as are the fried deviled eggs. We ended our meal with their addictive beignets. They do a lovely Sazerac and Aviation. And play great music - I heard Halcyon by Orbital - that doesn’t happen in a restaurant too often. Our server was a sweetheart and took good care of us.

Cozy atmosphere with a fantastic ambiance. Great happy hour specials for their specialty cocktails with a small beer offering as well. Staff is extremely courteous and attentive to patron's needs. Small patio area outside for when the weather is on point!

A well appointed historical building with classic New Orleans charm. Off the usual path it gives a quiet evening in the usually busy downtown. The friendly staff bring life to your meal and the small menu is on point with each of their offerings. An excellent beer list and eclectic cocktails.

This was a wonderful surprise! The food was exceptional. The service was great. The menu changes frequently so I'm not sure recommending anything specific will do any good but my group tried just about everything on the menu and I tried it all and loved it!

Stumbled upon this gem on accident, late in our trip, unfortunately. Kelly and Artie were behind the bar and we had such a great time! The cocktails were fantastic, they were both super friendly and knowledgeable. We learned the history behind some of the local cocktails, and got some great suggestions for places to go and things to do. We're already planning our trip back, and The Cellar Door will be a staple. Thanks for the good times!

The bar and atmosphere and people we all unique and fantastic. We tried several of the apps and the drinks, all were fun and interesting and delicious. The Ramos Gin Fizz and the duck ham were 2 items that I will not forget. Kelly and John were so fun and nice I loved it and they made us feel like they had known us for a long time. I would highly recommend stopping in for a drink and a bite. It is worth a trip for sure.

Hidden entrance through an alleyway. 7-seat bar flanked by an backyard patio and a colonial bricked room. Noise level is moderate with a full house. No drafts, but has a variety of local & national craft beers. The octopus appetizer is one of the best; it's meaty, tender & broiled to perfection.
