Visiting for a few days….
Loved this place. We were originally headed to Ruby Slipper but it was full. I’m so glad it was full. (For Breakfast). I had shrimp and grits and she had crab cakes Benedict. Both were amazing.
This restaurant has great atmosphere and is much nicer / more comfortable environment. Light jazz in background and generally very quiet.
All their food smelled, looked, and tasted amazing. We went the first night more by accident as we were just looking around the area and ran across their menu outside and decided to give it a shot. My husband finally got to try some alligator and he was happy with how well it tasted as was I. The bread pudding was amazing as well, we split that because the portion was enough for two people. The staff was amazing and the atmosphere was inviting.
WOW! My mom and I came here twice and it was such an amazing experience! Drinks were good and it was my first time having a ginormous oyster at the bar where everyone cheered me on-I even got to keep my oyster shell it was so much fun! The pasta, sandwiches, soup, pecan pie and oysters were a delight! We just kept ordering oysters till we had to catch our flight back home! Hope to come back soon to enjoy more!
This was my first food spot upon making it to New Orleans and definitely was a good choice! The service was great and food came out in a decent time. I ordered half a dozen chargrilled oysters, fried catfish with fries, and a side salad. The oysters were delicious but on the smaller side and the fish was fried perfectly. I enjoyed this meal and the hurricane I ordered along with it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area!
Fantastic on every front. Quick service from people who talk to you like real people and not robots. Everything on the menu is atleast interesting, but to any tourist, the gumbo is a great option. It's got spice but in a flavorful way and not a "hot for the sake of hot" way. Can't recommend this place enough. Having gumbo withdrawals just thinking about it.
Food was awesome! Our server Frank was the man! Very attentive and spot on with his recommendations. The charbroiled oysters were amazing! The garlic shrimp roll was very tasty as well as the seafood gumbo. Be aware that the oyster happy hour special is only available at the bar, which is a bummer :(
The Coterie Restaurant & Oyster Bar is a nice place to eat if you are not in a hurry. The service is friendly but a bit inattentive. The food is very good especially the raw oysters. Weekday happy hour is a real bargain with $14.00 a dozen raw oysters and three dollar a pint on some draft beers. Even at full price it is worth it. A nice atmosphere to eat.
Biscuits with crawfish & andouille sausage gravy changed the game. Might be the best thing I’ve had so far. His simple breakfast sandwich was layered with the skill of gods on a foundation of buttery wonderment complimented with the outstanding service everyone deserves all the time. 9am on a Wednesday turned out to be the perfect time on the perfect day for the perfect breakfast. I have to try everything else here. Make sure you stop by if you’re around and you won’t be disappointed.
I really wanted to rate this place better, but the service was so weird. Our waitress kept disappearing, and when we tried to find another staff, no one was to be found. The only person there was the hostess, but we didn’t want to bother her because she couldn’t leave her post in case other guests arrived. The entire restaurant was just people dining in while the staff were gone which felt like forever when someone finally appeared from the back. Besides the staff, the food is amazing! I loved the Rockefeller oysters and catfish napoleon so much! Even my Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes were cooked to perfection. My friend said her shrimp and grits were good too, and she ate the entire thing!! She normally has food leftover so I knew it was good when she finished it in one sitting. I would love to recommend this place to other people and to return for more food, but I will be mindful about the service and make note of it to my friends and family who I recommend this place to
Monday night we ate at Coterie. It was delicious! I had shrimp with grits. The grits were so creamy. I have never had better. I also had a crazy Cajun cocktail. It was really flavorful and good! The best part was our waiter! He was attentive, happy and pleasant and made our visit even better. He was the best waiter we had all week while on our vacation
