Really incredible architecture, good strong drinks, and yummy desserts. Only complaint would probably be that the waiters wern’t very friendly (never smiled) and I don’t like when they reuse glasses. They asked my friend if they could really use their cup to make their second drink. Kind of weird and rude considering it was for a $15 bourbon.
Our dinner was great. I had the shrimp and grits based off of the recommendation of my waitress and it was fantastic. My wife had the steak frites and the truffle fries. But the star of the show was the brussel sprouts, they were AMAZING. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.
I spent a couple hours here on a Thursday afternoon in June 2019. I am a senior citizen and a tourist, visiting Nashville for the 2nd time. Perhaps because the CMT Country Music Awards Festival was taking place in town, there was live music in the grand hotel lobby -- one act after another, all day, it seemed. I enjoyed the performances (not loud bands, more like folk music or singer-songwriters). Relaxing in the gorgeous, soaring lobby that was once a rail station waiting room, I ordered a lunch of shrimp and grits, with a beer. Service was very good. The food was not as good, because my dish had way too much cheese in it. But I loved spending time in this splendid, beautifully renovated hotel. It's an historic landmark and I recommend that you stop by to see the beauty of it. This review is for the restaurant only. I did not stay overnight in the hotel.
Everyone who is staying in Nashville downtown really needs to visit Carter's. This is the restaurant that is located inside the union station hotel which is also a must see. After staying a night at the hotel we decided to have a late night greasy snack of french fries and a Old fashioned drink. They both were awesome. So based on that experience we decided to give the restaurant a real shot at impressing us at breakfast the next morning. I promise the might be one of the best breakfast spots in the downtown area. If you are staying near by and looking for something to eat. I recommend coming in.
I was recommended the blueberry pancakes and the bacon. I turned down the recommendation, but I ordered the All american breakfast. I was not let down. I did try the pancake Ala carte and WOW. This might have been the best pancake I have ever eaten. I did not expect to like this restaurants fare nearly as much as I did.
Food was pretty good. Prices were fair for a hotel. Service was okay, but it was a little late in the evening so I understand.
The exhibit of Freda was very educational. Every detail of her life was writing on the wall and explained by our tour guide.
The conversation of the original and natural look is unbelievable.
Great service...delicious food...comfortable attractive atmosphere.
Have what you need,if not they will get it
