On our journey away from the Parthenon, we stumbled across this BBQ joint. Everyone in Nashville, period, is just so darn friendly. We needed some fuel to continue the journey and enjoy some good food. The ribs were fall of the bone tender and soooo flavorful. I am really starting to love this vinegar based BBQ sauce. The brisket was also super tender that you damn near needed two forks just to get some to your mouth. And I couldn't forget the deeee-licious Mac and cheese. Crust on top but cheesy underneath and sooo flavorful.
Service was great. I didn't care much for the brisket. It was a little dry but tender. It didn't have much flavor but was smoked well. The ribs were good. The potato salad was one of the worst I have ever put in my mouth. It was extremely bland. I didn't bother to eat it. The green beans were tasty! They only gave a small cup of barbecue sauce not enough for all the meat I had. The smoked turkey sandwich was delicious. The other problem was getting lemons on the side. They gave me the extra lemons wrapped in a napkin!! What??
The other reviews did not lie. This place was awesome. We ate at the bar & the service was excellent. The bartender was friendly & knowledgeable on the food & bar menu. The pulled pork sandwich was on point & the mac n cheese was the best. The Orange Crush cocktail was very good too. Highly recommend them.
Got the fried catfish platter with green beans and broccoli salad. Fish seemed small at first but ended up being a good quantity. I wish they had a variety of bbq sauces to try from and the ability to build your own meat platter combo
BBQ sampler plate was pretty good, Brisket was nice a tender. Ribs were not dry. Beans were pretty darn good.
Folks that work there were very friendly and helpful.
If your wanting BBQ good place to go.
PS...pecan pie is a must have :-)
Ok barbecue. Got the big boy combo with ribs and brisket. Ribs were pretty good, recommend the dry rub flavor rather than the spiced one. Brisket was ok, fatty part was good but the lean was a bit dry. Portion size is ok, considering ~27 a plate, the meat wasn’t that much. Flavor is good and service was great. Good decorations inside.
It was apparent that the BBQ here is good, but going during off hours I 100% got leftovers.
Traveling for work I stopped in by myself and pretty much was stuck on my phone coordinating a meeting for the following day. But I got an odd interaction from the server who brought my food, there was yelling in the kitchen so maybe it wasn't me causing the odd mood.
Anyway, I'd of liked the food fresh. Even reheated it was good. Fries were soggy and meat was cold in places, bread was stale.
But it tasted good.
Deserts looked like they'd been out a while so I obtained.
We got the brisket and it was good, not great but good. Sauce was excellent. Service was great, but food just seemed dry to us. Not knocking it in any way, but just wasn't our "cup of tea"
Lovely place for an outdoor lunch. We had the beef brisket sandwiches, cornbread hoecake and fries. All of them were wonderful and recommended.
This place is pet friendly and is very close walking distance from Centennial Park. They brought out a dog bowl of water with some ice cubes in it which our coonhound happily gulped down.
Excellent customer service and wonderful experience for lunch
Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. The atmosphere was inviting, the staff was friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. The brisket was near perfect alone and in the tacos and chili made those dishes off the charts. Ribs and patty melt, creamy mac n cheese get high praises also. Party of 8 and everyone raved about their food. Keep up the good work Martin's it is appreciated!
