I was visiting in the area for work and this restaurant was right across from my hotel so I decided to try it out. The customer service was good, my order was taken quick and my food came out hot and within 10 minutes. I ordered the Lamb Biryani and it was amazing! Super flavorful, seasoned to perfection and the lamb was very tender! The only thing I did not like was the Samosa… I ordered the vegetable Samosa and it completely missed the mark, it was cold and flavorless.
No buffet although its still advertised on the building. We loved our lunch. Had great service & everything was clean and nice looking, cloth napkins & tablecloth. They were fast with water & food. When I asked when they thought the buffet would start again, the reply sounded quick, prepared and false--in about a month. Business was booming while we ate, so I doubt it will be anytime soon, but we're happy to visit soon again. So good!
Number one place for Indian food. Pictures speak for themselves. Dined in and service was excellent. Speedy service with a smile. Most of the dishes are shareable so have someone get one meal and the other order another meal. Looked like there carry out was pretty busy with people coming in and out at a very fast rate. They do have plenty of complimentary parking in the rear of the restaurant. If you get a chance look into Groupon, it can actually save you some money.
What a great place. I came to Nashville to taste good food and this place wasn’t recommended on the videos I seen but it’s beating all the places I’ve been trying my girlfriend and I. Amazing. Vegeterian thalai and chicken tikka briyani
I was craving some Indian food and after researching a few places, the reviews led me to Sitar and I have to say it did not disappoint a bit. Everything from the samosas to the main course was delicious. The samosas were crisp as one would expect and the filling was just so amazing. It has pears in it if I remember correctly and it is just very flavorful. The sauce that accompanies it is also really good. Didn’t care much for the green sauce though. The garlic naan is a staple and it was very flavorful as well. The chicken Tandoori was also good. Very juicy and tender and I had jasmine rice with it and it needs no explanation, because it is just delicious. All in all I highly recommend this place and will definitely order again.
The food was ok, but not at all what I had expected. I ordered a seafood curry, medium "spicy." The flavor was overwhelmingly spicy. I could not even taste the curry or the lobster, which was abundant in the dish.
The service was decent. They were attentive and polite. However, there was a cloud of tension in the air that was crackling at any who were aware of their surroundings. It could have just been something rivate that had the employees on edge, but it was palpable to me nonetheless.
I loved the artwork and the music. Authentic Indian music made a huge impact for me. I am a fan of their culture, so I might be biased.
I come here almost every time I'm in Nashville. The food is sharable, flavorful, and there's plenty of leftovers for lunch tomorrow. I see that people are complaining about not-super-friendly service, but this is not the place for over-the-top customer service; this is a no-frills Indian restaurant. The food is great and it comes out fast. The servers are by no means rude, they're just not overly excited.
Simple place near Vanderbilt University, but an extensive menu, and everything we tried was delicious. The mulligatwany soup in particular was amazing, best lentil soup ever.
A Nashville Mainstay great for authentic Indian cuisine for dine-in, pick-up or delivery. Sitar has been around way before the build up of downtown Nashville. My order of papadam was forgtton in my delivery last night. One of the managers drove the overlooked food to my door within minutes of my call. .I was more than impressed. Proof of how much they care about their food and service. Thank you.
Great customer service. Our order was prepared quickly and everything was piping hot and fresh.
