Went their for the first time for everyone in our party even for someone who has lived here for a while. It was a great place great food excellent service. Awesome stone fire pizza. It was recommended by a friend and the person in our party who lives here said it was by far the best pizza they have ever had living here.
We had the best time at DeSano Bakery last night. Everyone should put it on their to-do list. Great food, wonderful show (making pizza), and fabulous company. Everyone should add it to their must do list in Nashville...
I went on a quest to find the best pizza in Nashville. I finally found it! This place blew away any pizza I’ve ever eaten in Tennessee. I got the margherita pizza. Cheese was flavorful. Crust was light and soft with an outside crunch. This is as close to legit neapolitan pizza as you can get outside of Italy. Can’t wait to go back.
DeSano is my default pizza place in Nashville. The wood fired ovens are just the right finishing touch for their pizza's hand tossed crusts and fresh ingredients. If you’d like, you can watch them build your pizza from start to finish.
The atmosphere is very Spartan with the only seating option being a long, picnic style tables with wooden benches. To be honest, their pizza is so good I really don't care what the dining room looks like!

This pizza place is tucked away just behind the bars on Demonbreun St and just up from Midtown is overlooked. Tailgate is right by it slinging much less satisfying pizza and is packed while DeSano with its free parking sits mostly empty except for a busy takeout window.
The pizza is incredibly authentic Neapolitan style made in giant wood fired ovens. You can sit in the dining room and watch your pizza dough tossed fired and served directly to you. My dining partner had recently returned from Italy and had a craving for Neapolitan pizza. I was surprised when I searched to find this place I'd never heard of it. We agreed it absolutely hit the mark as authentic and delicious. If you want this style of pizza there is nowhere else in Nashville you should go.
The location itself with a large dining room could be great for groups and kids but they don't really do anything with it which really is the only complaint. You order at a counter can grab yourself a drink from a cooler some plastic forks from a bucket and eat at a large bench. I do wish there was more of a bar restaurant atmosphere.
Also this place seems like it would be amazing to host pizza making classes that bachelor and bachelorette parties would love.
Going back I'd probably do takeout but I'd absolutely go back it's a top level pizza joint.
I recently returned from a trip to Italy and was craving Neapolitan pizza. We found this place, and it was pretty dang close. We tried “The Pig” and it was great! There’s not a whole lot of atmosphere to the place, kind of a warehouse feel. Either way, the pizza was worth it. 😋
We ordered two pizzas from DeSano’s and both were great.
The pepperoni pizza could have used a little more char on top similar to the Neapolitan, but it was still really good. I wasn’t sure what to expect, so just know that the pepperoni has the same flop as the Neapolitan.
Desano pizza came out quickly and was fantastic. Light crust, so chewy, and great flavor. The meatballs were amazing. Thanks for a great meal.
We got the Pig and traditional Margarita pizza. They have a cool toppings bar that really helped enhance the pizza. Food is fast and so good and their team was very helpful and polite. 2 pizzas for under $40 fed 4 hungry adults and one starved toddler!
Wonderful low key, down to earth, cement floor, garage vibe place. Come as you are, bring your friends as the tables are large and there's plenty of seats. Pizza and cannoli were the stars tonight. This is quickly gaining on my go to list
The pizza was great! The girl taking the orders wasn’t friendly and the atmosphere was just ok. We were told they are moving but the place still looked like it needed a good clean.
This is the best pizza I’ve ever had. I’ve been here 4-5 times and it has always been great! The spice bar is a home run, love it!
