The owner is great. Really makes an effort to be part of the community. Good venue for music and the food was what one would expect.
Comfortable mellow neighborhood bar, nearly full with 60-year old Grateful Dead fans who came at 8 PM on a Sunday night to listen to the house band, the Shotgun Ragtime band. Tables on the sidewalk out front with drinkers and smokers, and a neat little room with a pool table in the back. Relax, unplug, chill out, and stop by some Sunday evening.
They have bands many other nights too.
House kitchen is straightforward and solid, but simple fare.
Live music pretty much every night. I almost only go on Fridays and it can get quite busy. But it's a good time!
Your favorite neighborhood dive bar. They are awesome in how they support local music. Come by anytime and hang out with the crew.
If you're a band trying to make a name for you self, this place is not the spot. Unless you want to get get kicked like Stone Ark did. First off the sound guy takes first 60 people ticket sales, the venue can only hold 60 people. You will not make money from playing here and you will not gain any exposure. I will never be going back to this place and will not recommend to anyone thanks to the sound guy and door man Larry Sahagian. I never had a chance to speak to the owner but they seem questionable considering the fact that the 2 people in charge were absolutely wasted. Unprofessional staff and nothing but a disrespectful dive bar. Do not waste your time here when you can play venues like The Treasurey in Saint Paul and the Garage in Burnsville. I support local Minneapolis music not some washed up bitter old man. It sickens me that ruined everyone's night Larry. You do not deserve to represent the beauty of the twin cities music scene with such an ugly energy and hate towards young musicians.
# Make Minnesota music fun again
Fun local joint with free pool in the back, a great front sidewalk, and occasional open mic nights. Nice variety of appetizers, although some are overpriced.
Always fun to see St. Dominic's here (particularly when the sax shows up later) and our entire crew is immensely appreciative of the establishment's insistence on checking vaccine status. As always, great burgers and wide selection of reasonably priced brews. Rock on, Driftwood!
Classic urban neighborhood bar. Great service starting with a greeting when you walk through the door. One of my wife's friend's band was on stage for our entertainment and they were very entertaining and a $5 per person cover...beer was cold and the wings were cooked well and hot. You do not need to cross the WI border to experience a local neighborhood bar. Put them on your "what the hell, let's try something different" bucket list and be welcomed to the neighborhood. Classic Minneapolis neighborhood bar!!
I have been going here for 45 years. Love this place. Live music and really good burgers. MS Pacman and Galaga is a big draw.
I came here for my first time to see a dear friend, Max Rewitzer, perform on the colorful, eclectic stage late one Wednesday night. We loved the cozy feel of this place. The staff were great, the music of the highest quality, and the wall of artwork both highly entertaining/engaging as well as contributing to a good cause. 💙
