As a first time customer, I was very happy with the food. It's getting harder and harder to find old school "American Chinese" food that's done well and at a reasonable price. My friend and I will be back again. The service was also excellent and we appreciate being able to 'opt-out' on the MSG. See you again soon!
Delicious food and served fast. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Kwans has become at least a weekly thing. Take out is quick as well.
Great place in southwest minneapolis. I have been coming here since I was a kid. Great food, excellent service Min is wonderful to my family and I. My only complaint is I eat there way to much :). Try the orange chicken!
You can't go wrong with Kwan's! My family has been regulars for years and not only is the food good for quick Chinese take-out, but the owner/chef have always been extremely warm, friendly, and welcoming! I've always been satisfied with whatever I order off the menu, and find that for Chinese take-out it is exceptionally good!
Very tasty Sweet & Sour Chicken and Kung Pau Beef. Very friendly chef/greeter/server! Cozy and clean little place. Two thumbs up!
Cheap, quick, and delicious.. To the extent that take-out can be judged, this place does it well. Veggies were suprisingly fresh, fast service, and inexpensive. Highly recommended!
Just The Best. I love the food here and the owners are the nicest people you'll ever meet. If you are a regular (and I am) they will get to know your name and always greet you when you walk in or call them up.
I have been looking for a great Chinese restaurant that serves quality full flavored food that isn't overly sauced or heavily battered. All three dishes that were ordered looked wonderful and tasted even better. This will definitely be a restaurant that I will frequently visit.
Awesome! Best bang for the buck, everything I've ever ordered has been great. No run of the mill too-much-gloppy-sauce here. My go-to Chinese place.
Best in town. Best Chow Mein in town. The staff are very friendly and reliable. Fast and good service. Be sure to try the Chicken Wings and the Fried Cream Cheese Wontons, they are the best I have ever had anywhere.
Came here for lunch. It wasn't too crowded, got seated right away and had our waters given. The server was fast to explain the menu and went over all the specials they had going on for lunch. The pho was good and fresh, the broth was cooked in quality. I was pleased with the service and food. Good place.
The food here is delicious. Ordered take out last week and was amazed at how fresh and tasty it was. I'm in love with the cream cheese wontons (both types), tofu fried rice (so good) and the tofu chop suey. Large portions end up providing 2-3 meals for myself and my friend.
Will definitely be ordering from here again.
Perfect neighborhood restaurant. The staff is tremendous! They're very friendly and accommodating. The food is tremendous as well, great options for whatever you're in the mood for. My personal go-to is the combination plate - usually General Tso's chicken, white rice, and an egg roll (YUM), but there are great mains and sides for vegetarians as well. Called in to order takeout and my food was ready in about 20 minutes. I've also ordered delivery through some apps and it has always been extremely quick as well!
We live in the neighborhood and are regular takeout customers of Kwan's. We're creatures of habit I guess, and know what we like. We always get one order of Chicken with Broccoli along with the Fried Pork Dumplings appetizer. Both are great. The Chicken with Broccoli is a generous portion with lots of broccoli that's cut in a nice way, very easy to eat and done just right. It's not easy to find takeout food that has a good, tasty & LARGE portion of veggies! The dumplings are very good too. OK, we're seniors, but sharing one entree plus the dumplings is plenty for us. Cost last night was just 17 bucks! (+ optional tip). Staff are always friendly and helpful too. A hidden gem!!
A solid 4 is a great compliment. I’ve been eating here for years and only just decided to do a google maps review. I’m picky about Chinese food, super picky, & I even spent 1-month in China. This doesn’t mean I’m a connoisseur, I just know what I like and what I want. I normally only order Moo Goo Gai Pan here (as pictured), because it’s always a solid meal and a great value. Aside from the obvious sodium issues (it’s a salty dish everywhere), it’s also a pretty healthy order out option for me (I don’t eat the rice). What I wish I had a picture of are the 2 enormous beef/shrimp spring rolls I ordered tonight that were fantastic. I wish I had a pic of those! Filled with strips of beef & medium sized shrimp, rice noodles & fresh greens I was extremely pleasantly surprised by them. Unruly in their size they were the best to-go order I’ve had in my neighborhood in a while. Bravo!
Tonight was our first time ordering here and we will definitely be ordering again! Delicious food and wonderful service. We ordered our food for delivery through a third party and our driver forgot a bag. The restaurant was able to get ahold of the driver and he came back to drop off the missing bag. It was so appreciated! The sesame chicken was delicious as were the special cream cheese wontons!
We love getting takeout from here. We thought we would give it a try as it was close to our new house. The price is amazing for the portion sizes and have liked everything we have tried. We now order at least a couple times every month!
(DON'T order with doordash specifically. doordash doesn't pay restaurants in full and doordash is consistently ALWAYS late without fail.)
I'm feeling like the spiciness of Kwan's Phö made me so happy, I feel it may have temporarily cured my depression. They consistently have the best fresh food for their customers and are always respectful of order requests. By far my Favorite Restaurant to go to. Their Phö feels like a nice socially-distanced hug; AMAZING comfort food and always good service.
Delicious, affordable Chinese food. Plenty of vegetarian options, and superb staff.

Under new ownership. Great food and fast. I have tried a lot of dishes now and liked them all. The cream cheese wontons with green onion are the best around. Staff have been great every time. They really appreciate the customer here
