First time in a long time since I've been to Sawatdee. We were able to be seated right away. The menu was extensive, but we both ordered the Pad Thai. Nice portion size but the pork was not very flavorful. I probably would not order this again. They have a little robot that brings the food to the table. Very cute. I will be back to try the curry.

All the food we've ever had from Sawatdee has been delicious, but the reason we go again and again is to get the "Paradise Chicken Wings" (which are an architectural wonder because we have no idea how one stuffs a chicken wing never mind stuffs them as full as these are filled) and "Sue's Egg Rolls" (which we feel are among the best in the Twin Cities maybe even the best).

Wow this place has changed. Went here pre-pandemic and it was so-so. Service I would have given a 4 star but they have a helper robot which definitely made the overall experience better. I also like that they provide cloth napkins. The food was amazing. Sorry I didn’t take any pictures. I was impressed by the food that I totally forgot. We ordered the calamari which was weirdly beer batter breaded but the entrees were excellent. I ordered the Erewan steak salad which was very good. My friend ordered the Panang curry and he said it’s delicious. We also ordered the ice thai tea and it was great 👍🏽 As a whole I gave 5 stars all around but it was borderline going to get a 4-4.5 stars. Sawatdee’s needs to tighten up the ship because the calamari was not as described and self-seating ourselves isn’t very professional. I have been going to Sawatdee’s for over 25 years, first time in Lowertown St Paul, and hope they keep moving in the right direction.

This was my third time trying their food and it was about to be the last one but I changed my mind. It was absolutely delicious. My husband always orders fried rice with the spiciness level of 1 out of 5. I must say that the rice has never really hit the spot, it’s tasteless but my husband enjoys it. So this time I ordered the Pad Thai (spiciness 3) and it was just perfect! I cannot say anything bad about it. Also my husband said it was the best pad Thai he’d has in the twin cities. Service was good and our waitress was so kind! 5 stars based on their pad Thai.

Good Thai place in downtown east Minneapolis. They have some vegan options, but you need to ask the server for details as it isn’t marked. They are able to do most of the noodle and fried rice dishes vegan. I got the Summer Pad Thai with fried tofu. It was pretty good, although a little lacking in flavor. I also got the fried veggie spring rolls, which are very big for spring rolls. They were good as well. My biggest pet peeve is that the curry dishes all have fish paste so they cannot be made vegan, but otherwise there was definitely options.we dined in and it was a bit quiet and unlively. I’d recommend this place for a quick Thai takeaway.

Just a phenomenal experience from start to finish! Very inviting and comfortable with a versatile menu. Very clean from top to bottom! Items made to order so one can decide level of spice. Fast, courteous, professional service from Jamela who graciously took the time to offer recommendations and shook a perfect martini! We ordered the appetizer platter for two. The peanut vinegar sauce was out of this world and everything so hot and fresh! Thank you!!

My son moved downtown Minneapolis and had never had Thai food out, so we splurged on takeout from Sawatdee. The person who took our order said was super-nice and food was ready timely. We are spice lovers but were conservative with our levels at 2-3 and the dishes were perfect for us. We had the catfish and a traditional red chicken curry, both excellent. The appetizer plate for two was mostly good as well, but wished the sarongs were not quite as dry as they were. Overall, we’ll be going back and already planned what we want to get next time!

A great place for Thai food in Minneapolis. Easy access off Washington Ave and the interior of the restaurant is bright and colorful. One of my favorites places for take out. They even have a robotic waiter.

Great atmosphere with Thai decor. Clean. Friendly service. Quick service. Wide variety of options on the menu. Enjoyed the fresh spring rolls to start. Then I enjoyed the pad thai with chicken. Great portion of food. Filling. Very flavorful! Enjoyed my experience and look forward to visiting again.
