I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of beans. Portions were generous. The pulled pork was excellent. The house BBQ sauces are flavorful. Their baked beans are very flavorful - so much flavor that they don’t taste like brown beans. I’ll opt for a different side next time.
If you’re looking for good BBQ in the Cities, I recommend Beast BBQ without hesitation.
They have ample indoor seating with plenty of room between tables. Everything is clean and the space welcoming. They also have a few tables for outside dining, along the entrance. It is a perfect place to hang out with friends or have a business meeting.
The server was friendly and offered some good tips (like use their Cakalacky sauce on the pulled pork).
They offer catering and takeaway- which is why I went to test their food today. I came away confident that their food will be perfect for an upcoming board meeting meal. They offer transparent pricing. Jeff, the chef, is very responsive, so it didn’t take more than 30 minutes to get his reply after I emailed them from their site with an inquiry. These people are easy to work with.
Go get some BBQ soon and let me know if you agree.
Was pleasantly surprised at how good it was! Had the plate, over meat one side, it was a nice portion, and filled me up. Came with Texas toast. Pulled pork was spot on, Mac and cheese also. Lucas was my server and was fantastic. The sauces were tasty. I will definitely be back when I return to MSP. The menu prices are a dollar higher than the website. Assume it needs to be updated. The only thing I didn't like was the selection of music playing but what can I say, I'm getting old...!
The appetizers we ordered were the true star of the show. Fried green tomatoes, brisket totchoes and BBQ wontons with sweet chili sauce. All amazing.
We dug in to them so fast that I forgot to take a photo of them, but we'll go back for sure.
I wasn't a huge fan of their sauces, but that's just me, my husband and the other couple we dined with liked them a lot.
The coleslaw wasn't the best, and the beans were a bit rich, but the corn and collard greens were great.
Our server was great and accommodating, and we liked the over all vibe of the place.
We had great experience at Beast Barbecue. We ordered a three meat platter, along with three sides and the brisket stroganoff. Everything was delicious. My favorites were the stroganoff and ribs. Our server was friendly and helpful.
I enjoyed most of what I had here. I really like the brussel sprouts, they were sweet and syrupy. The amount of meat that we got was a little lacking for how much we paid. Other barbecue joints usually give more meat. But they were well made and smoked very well. The collard greens were my least favorite food item, they didn't really taste like collard greens, almost as though they worked to take out the collard taste which I didn't enjoy because I do enjoy southern food. I don't know if I would go back often considering the price and the amount of food that was given. I really enjoyed the fish as well. But it was a tasty meal and would recommend to anyone in the Northeast area to give it a try.
My friend chose this place for her birthday dinner. When I go out, I usually bring takeout home for my partner, so I just decided we should get their family (5-6 person) BEAST option. Six meats, five sides, texas toast and homemade pickles. This way we would have leftovers for lunches as well.
The food was delicious. The amout was substantial. My favorite was the pulled pork (stacked high on the texas toast Mmmm), the brisket, and the ribs. She really liked the wings, pulled pork and tips. My partner loved the smoked chicken. We got the mac & cheese(good), greens(good), mashed potatoes(good), tots(perfect), and brussel sprouts(which are like little nuggets of- I will fight you for the last one.)The toast was good. They were a little stingy with the pickles, but that was really the only thing I didn't love so, whatever.
We also got the pimento cheese app and were very happy with it as well. We found out that it was great on the nice and crispy tots!
We will both be back. And we would both happily order the Beast again.
Overall it was a good dining experience. But the ribs were very dry and the brisket was a little Fatty.
Amazing food. Brisket was tender and savory. Dry rub chicken were crispy and delicious and the Caesar salad was great as well
Quality BBQ is hard to find in the cities, but this place is one of the best. I had the pulled pork sandwich with potato salad, which is fire, especially with that cackalacky sauce drizzled all over. I alao had the brisket cream cheese wontons, which were different but also fire! The customer service at the bar was prompt, detailed and answered all of my questions.
We visited on Father's Day and were welcomed right away. There wasn't a wait to be seated. The service was great, and so was the food. We ordered the 3 meat platter: ribs, brisket, and pulled pork butt with 3 sides: mac n cheese, brussel sprouts, and french fries. The food was really good and we had leftovers to bring home. Would definitely go back.
