The food was amazing. I had the butternut squash ravioli and the pasta with sausage and red peppers. The ravioli was so soft and fresh. We had the tiramisu which was super watery to us. Parking lot is small. Be prepared to look at other parking spaces. Overall service was great
I’ve been to Broders’ before, but I had an especially great visit this week. The food is always incredible. I would highly recommend the burrata appetizer and the truffle pasta. The staff is very knowledgeable and kind, and they helped me to have a lovely birthday dinner. Thanks to the whole team for a great night!
Prices have increased dramatically from when I went there in winter 2022 to now, summer 2023. In a short span of time, I witnessed my $20 become roughly $28 and a dessert that I have had go from $7 to $12, so that is the part that may upset some. With all that said, this place is still one of my favorite Italian food places in the Twin Cities, if not my favorite. Apart from the prices, a few more things have changed, such as open for lunch now instea of just dinner, and of course, the ever changing menu. I have been here 3 times and I have not seen their menu looking exactly the same as the last time I was there, specifically regarding the types of pastas.
The food is just delicious. I have had a few pastas that I have seen remained on their menu, such as the fettucine con manzo and the pappardelle con coniglio. I have also had other pastas that only remained on their menu for a certain amount of time, such as the ravioli di zucca, the ravioli di granchio, the stringozzi langostino, and more. Their pasta is very well made because every single bite, whatever you include in the bite whether it is pasta alone, pasta with the other ingredients, or just the ingredients themselves, the pasta tastes the same, which is amazing, because the flavors truly work together. My only critique is the calamari. For $17, the amount given is way too little, on top of the fact that calamari is fried but there is very little sauce underneath, and the lemon is also fried so instead of lemon becoming a complement ingredient, it becomes a part of the edible dish, which works for texture but leads to the calamari itself very underseasoned. Everything else is a hit! Excellent food one can count on.
I strongly recommend the tiramisu dessert. The coffee flavor was strong and they had some extra sweetness there that was very comforting. It was not artificial sweetness that would make me feel like I was eating plain sugar. Maybe even the best tiramisu I have had anywhere here in the Twin Cities. I also recommend the profiteroles (price went up from $7 to $12), which are really simply made from cream puff pastry, ice cream, and chocolate syrup. It tastes amazing and I can imagine one taking this idea to make at home.
Overall, I love it every single time I visit this place! This will be one of my top go to restaurants for bringing my friends to try Italian food.
Tried this place out on a Friday night. It was busy but we were able to be seated within 30 minutes. Our server was on the ball and he even had some great recommendations for us. Started with burrata and calamari for appetizers. Then had gnocchi di manzo e funghi and tagliarini di locanda di lupo. Finished the night with profiteroles for dessert. Everything came out fresh and was near perfect! I’ve been to “authentic” Italian places out East and would put this Minneapolis based Italian restaurant above those. We will definitely be coming back!
First time here at this iconic Minneapolis staple. First if all the food was amazing. Fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned and well thought menu. Caspar salad was garlicky and flavorful. Alfredo was rich and luscious. The dessert stole the show. Apple Crostada, Warm cinnamon apples with a crumble granola topping and creamy vanilla ice cream with salted carmel. You have to save room for it.
Service was sufficient but not what I'd expect for the caliber of dining experience I was anticipating. My waiter was not very prompt or personable. The support staff did great with refilling water and grabbing my dishes. My daughter and I just felt as we were an afterthought. Will still be back, but likely takeout only.
Bangin' pasta. You can taste how authentically italian the food is by the bite and the chew of the pasta. The portion sizes were good, the food was flavorful, the cheese was grated generously, the desert was delicious. We were seated on the patio, and we ordered fettuccine con manzo, the pasta special, fettuccine Alfredo, and cacio e pepe. All the food was great. The fettuccine con manzo was the best out of everything that we ordered. We also ended our meal with the affogato which was a delight.
Please keep in mind that wait times to get seated at Broders are long since they don't take reservations and it's based on a first come-first serve basis.
Love the outdoor patio setup! Nice variety of pasta.. excited to go back to try other options. Decent drink selection as well. Small parking lot—it was easy for us to find a spot.
So rare to find a restaurant that truly lives up to its hype! My favorite restaurant to go grab a nice bowl of pasta at. You can taste the quality and freshness of all the ingredients. Staff are wonderful and are very knowledgeable about the menu.
We went on a Monday evening and it was pretty busy, but had no wait for a table inside. The patio looked cute and perfect for summer meals. Our food came out within minutes. We tried the fettuccine with beef and tagliarini di locanda di lupo. The tagliarini was incredible— super rich and flavorful, and would definitely order again. The menu was big for a pasta place so we would try something other than the fettucine next time.
We didn’t order drinks or dessert because the server didn’t come over at all, but the food was good despite the vibes being off. Parking lot is very small but there’s street parking nearby.
Tiny Italian restaurant, call ahead if you can and don't expect them to accommodate large parties.
The flavors were excellent, I enjoyed the, Fettuccine All'Arrabbiata a spicy pork belly dish. My wife had Fettuccine Alfredo and raved about the lemon butter sauce. I personally thought mine was too Al Dente Plates but that could be my moms fault. Their dinner plates can go from $20-$30. The crowd is an older established group the bar was a very popular spot. There were very few children in the restaurant or patio. Although they do have a kids menu, it's called Kits Menu, and 10% of sales goes to support the Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota
