This was my first experience at Jamerican Jerk Center. I got shrimp in sauce (jerk), rice & peas, plantains & cabbage. I got a large. The food was very good. The portions were decent, probably except the cabbage. I absolutely love the rice and peas & plantains. I would definitely eat here again.
Jeremy Shrimp heaven. Travel safe. Will be back.
While driving around looking for lunch somewhere other than the boring and mundane fast food circuit, this little hole in the wall place came into sight. The restaurant is very small, has limited family seating but does offer counter dining too. The menu features cooked-to-order standard Jamaican restaurant fare along with a dry erase board of daily specials and "American food." Most menu offerings are offered in two sizes, standard and large for a few dollars more. I ordered the large portion curry chicken. The entree consisted of midly-spiced curry chicken along with rice and plantains. The food was of high quality and the portion was plentiful. The owners are very nice and went out of their way to ensure our food to-go was carefully packaged and bagged. The prices were fair and four people were able to get lunch for under $50. Next time while in the area, we'll be sure to order from here again.
We had the Jerk Chicken, Oxtail, rice/beans, cabbage, mac & cheese and plantains. Jerk chicken was the star of the show, but the sides were incredible too. Oxtail was great, but compared to the chicken just didn't leave an impression. Finishing with the plantains was heavenly (my favorite dessert). The whole thing was like a mini vacation.
Update: We went back again because we kept seeing people rate this place badly. We again got Jerk Chicken, but this time switched the Oxtail up for Curry Chicken. Incredible again! Not as great as the Jerk, but tender and tasty. You NEED to eat here.
Food Was Amazing Just Wish They Had Bigger Portions The Large Shrimp Only Had 8 Shrimp Kinda Sad About That Also Very Small Portion Of Cabbage But Everything Was Tasty
Authentic JA Taste! I ordered curried shrimp, cabbage, yams, and rum cake and was pleasantly pleased. Oftentimes, Jamaican restaurants don't serve food done the original way it's made back home but get away with it because people do not understand what it should really taste like (i.e., thinking Taco Bell is true Mexican food). This right here though was the truth! The curry was not hot and they burned it well enough to not bother my stomach; the shrimp was deveined; the cabbage was AMAZING! - no frozen veggies tossed in as filler (YES!!!!); yams were awesome too!! I loved the co-owner wife, a fellow yardie, who is as sweet as ever!! I no longer live in the area but would hands down come back here anytime I'm in town so that I know I'm eating well.
This was my first time eating from this restaurant I must say it was absolutely delicious hot fresh not over season not salty I’ll be back again and again and again and I’m definitely going to be referring a lot of my friends and family thank you so much to the staff there this food is amazing
The folks here are super kind. It took a minute for them to make the Jamaican patties, but they are well worth the wait.
Food was really good not overly salty just right but one thing they forgot was my Plantains. The food was really good I love it. Great job... We will definitely be back.....
Brown Stew Fish is Absolutely worth it!!!
