I’ve been going to Maria’s Pizza for 20+ years for a historic old school restaurant I love it many memories known the original owners here, who have since passed (rip)come and gone New owners and kidds doing there best to keep it going, love the thin crust pizza and prices!!
By far the best thin crust pizza I've EVER had!! My family started eating at the old restaurant on Greenfield Ave back in 1959 and we have been going to NO OTHER restaurant since! Maria's pizza has become a family tradition for us and we ALWAYS look forward to having it! The staff is AMAZING and Bonnie is just as amazing as the pizza! Actually the entire staff is the real deal! Authentic Italian pizzeria ran by an Italian family....the way it should be! This place is as much a staple of the Southside of Milwaukee as is the Allen Bradley clock tower!! The flavor of the sauce combined with the amazing sausage and the paper thin bubbly crust is what dreams are made of! It hasn't changed in 60 years....and when you have something as good as this you wouldn't want it to! Thank you Maria's pizzeria for giving my family amazing pizza's and traditions for over 60 years!! You are just as much family to mine even if not related lol
I don't live to far from here and enjoyed that it's right now the street. The pizza was nice and hot when picked up. It was good, place was nice, clean and welcoming! They do require mask when doing curbside or pick up! (Which I don't mind, safety first) We did get two huge pizzas which can feed about 4 to 5 people so we did have left overs!
We just got out pizza not long ago. It was my childhood pizza growing up. And even though I was an adult my dad would still ask if I wanted pizza when I'd visit him from out of town. My family now loves this pizza too. And it's my young adult kids childhood pizza when we visit grandpa. They are the best pizza!
This is one of my favorite pizza places to ever go to!! They had an amazing last day!! Thank you for all the happy memories
This is a Milwaukee thin or cracker crust type pizza. If you don't like that type this is not for you. Also nonchain pizzas are not chain prices, don't complain. They also slightly char the edges, if that is not your style then don't get this pizza. Their 14 by 18 inch square large is equivalent to two round medium pizzas. Excellent thin crust and sauce. Great sausage
Dining at Maria's is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. It's a cash-only restaurant so be prepared.
Decorated for every holiday (and I do mean *every*), you dine in a small room with an open view of your pizza being made on tables with classic red checkered table cloths. The walls are decorated with those intricate paint-by-number paintings (mostly religious figures), allegedly painted by Maria herself. The pizzas are super thin crust, cracker-like on the edges but softer towards the middle. I'd recommend the Special, but you can't go wrong with any of the options.
The staff is incredibly friendly and a couple have worked there since I was a kid!
We had a good meal. Everyone enjoyed the food. The service was good. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is just because it was good, not great. I've had much better chicken parmesan in many other places. I do have to say though the garlic bread was pretty tasty.
My favorite pizza place to go to. This is definitely a Milwaukee staple when it comes to pizzas. I honestly found no other like it. I’ve known Bonnie when she was a waitress on Greenfield and worked alongside her mother. Nowadays as everyone is getting older I think it is taxing Marias Pizza and possibly may close due to this. I certainly hope not and really hope that someone takes this place over to keep this place on the map.
This is the best pizza place in Milwaukee. Today is the last day I spent my whole 45 years of life eating Maria's Pizza. They will definitely be missed
