Definitely a great place for a night out. This was my first experience with Nikkei inspired cuisine and I will seek it out from now on! The food and service were top notch. The sushi was prepared by a master sushi chef recently arrived from Japan. The inside of the restaurant had great ambience and a relaxed romantic lighting. 100% shall return next time I am in South Beach!

This brand new restaurant on Miami's South Beach is already a great destination. They officially open on Sunday, November 12th so go before the reservations are too hard to get! I recommend you order a cocktail made by their master mixologists, specifically their signature drink called the Sakura Maru. I'm not entirely sure what's in it but it's delicious and puts you in a festive mood. We also had a few others, with my favorite being the Blushing Geisha, a mix of Scotch, vermouth, strawberries, lemon, and basil. It is reminiscent of a Scotch Old Fashioned but lighter on the palette. We started our meal with Hotate a la Parmesean and Papitas with Ocopa. The Hotate is a scallop in a pisco white cream sauce covered in melted Parmesean and is to die for while the Papitas is a cold dish of potatoes and other veggies over a different cream sauce. Both were very good to get you going. Our second course consisted of a Spicy Tuna Roll and a Shrimp and Salmon Roll. What can I say, they were both very good. As I understand it, they bring in a very special, small batch, soy sauce which adds a subtle deliciousness to the sushi. Our third course was Paiche and Lomo Saltado. The Lomo Saltado is grilled skirt steak mixed with Peruvian potatoes, peppers, onions, and some unique spices with a side of Jasmine rice. I've never had Paiche before and I have to tell you that it is unlike any fish I've ever tasted. It was served on a bed of mushrooms and bok choy in a slighly sweet brown sauce. Both dishes were amazing! Finally, for dessert we had a sweet mix of a light cream in a bed of Dulce de Lecce caramel - wow! I'll be back for sure and I recommend you give them a try.

Peruvian-Japanese perfection. Order the tasting menu to get the full experience. Tried foods I've never tasted before, and all expertly prepared. Fish flown in fresh from Japan. Best food I've tasted in South Beach.

Sakura is a great south of fifth restaurant. The sushi is as good as there is in Miami beach and their dinners are fantastic, all at a very reasonable price for South Beach. Sushi rolls for $6 during happy hour, 5-8 every day, great deal!!

Sakura 736 offers the best of Nikkei food, which originally derived from Japanese immigration in Peru. The restaurant is elegant and the presentation of its dishes is flawless. Immediately upon arrival we noticed how they have made a great effort to spend on resources that create a unique and superb culinary experience. The ingredients they use are fresh and of top quality. We recommend trying the “Paiche”, a freshwater fish from the Amazon cooked with wild mushrooms. We were pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff who proved to be truly knowledgeable about the origins of the food they served and added colorful commentary about the way their dishes and drinks were prepared.
