Finally a GOOD buffet. It’s a small buffet but GOOD! Its not your typical cheap quality food buffet. Its Louisiana style food, not chinese! The only thing I think they could add are hush puppies. Go eat here and give this place some love!
Been coming here once a week for the last 3 months, food is always consistent and delicious. Can never get enough of the fried chicken and bread pudding. The servers are always friendly. I highly recommend Louisiana Purchase!
Buffett. Really good buffet. We live in Gretna and will definitely be back
Say what? A Cajun buffet?. Yessir, This was a first for me too. Is it the finest cuisine that the N.O. area has to offer? Probably not, but Louisiana Purchase Kitchen offers a great assortment of home-style Louisiana cajun and creole selections such as Gumbo, Boudin, red beans and rice, étouffée, fried chicken, fried okra and the list goes on.
All in great abundance and all you can eat. The best part is, that it's reasonably priced and there's plenty of parking space. Just be sure to leave a little room at the end of your meal for their homemade bread pudding with brandy sauce. It's a sinfully delicious lagniappe and well worth saving room for. The next time I'm back in Kenner, you can bet that I'll stop by LPK again.

Was Suprised How Good After Years. I haven't been to this place in 15 or so years. Never was a big fan. Food was so so. Now I just tried it again and was very impressed. Now I don't usually comment on these places in these forums, but I was so impressed I had to say something-- keep in mind I come from a family of cooks-- some in the business--and I also cook. The food was very good. Catfish both baked and fried was big pieces--not small slices with heavy batter--I hate that. The BBQ shrimp was good and the smothered cabbage was better than most I have ever tried--including soul food special places like Hurst's on Airline Dr. When you balance the price for the quality and taste, this is top-ranked. This establishment has been around for at least 30 years. It use to be near Houston's restaurant on Vets Blvd. Wasn't that impressed back then either.. It has really changed for the better or they wouldn't still be here.. Will come back again.. thank you for still being here and improving...
I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I came to a buffet, but it was rated so highly that I had to give it a try. The place is busy on Friday night, so that's a good sign. The food is good, very good as compared to a typical buffet. It's kept fresh and hot for the most part and was tasty and seasoned. The fried catfish was the hit tonight, they must have cooked over 10 pounds of it while I was there. I wasn't thrilled with their BBQ shrimp, it seemed over cooked, but what do you expect on a buffet, right? I enjoyed the bronzed catfish most and the corn and shrimp bisque was good too, seasoned just right. Be sure to save room for some bread pudding with brandy sauce! Check it out, it's worth a look!
My husband and I happened to be in Kenner today and as suggested by a local, to stop here. We're very glad we did because the food was amazing. It's a southern style buffet, but everything is extremely fresh. I tried a little bit of everything and I have to say my favorites are the fried chicken, fried okra, creamed cabbage, and fresh baked fish. We will definitely return in the future :)

Today, the food was great; especially the barbecued chicken! We got in and out fast with clean restroom facilities.
Tasty southern home food. It's a small place with a small selection. But everything tastes really good. The cabbage and green beans were very good. As was the baked fish and the red beans. The things I didn't find as great were the fried catfish and chicken etoufee.
The general consensus was that the bread pudding with brandy sauce was ace.
Not many good options nearby. It's a buffet, but at least not a terrible buffet. I won't recommend it, but I won't diss it either.
We ate there today for lunch had great, friendly service. Great variety of delicious tasting food. We would visit again! 5 star ⭐️
Awesome southern style buffet. The bronze fish, the BBQ chicken, the corn bread, the beets. This is one of those places you tell your family about and I'm from Texas. This place will become a favorite no matter who or what your taste is. Give them a shot and you'll be posting a new love too.
I absolutely love this place! I’ve been coming here for about 6 years and the reason I keep coming back is the good prices, the staff, and the convenience. I always get takeout for my food because I’m normally on lunch break. Purchase Kitchen is a buffet with daily menus. My favorite is Monday red beans and fried chicken and Thursday seafood pasta. You can also ask for takeout and have your food weighed in the back and they will checkout at the front register. Dine in is also available for those who want to dine. I work next door so coming here is super convenient for me, I am normally in and out. My only recommendation is adding new items to the menu to keep things fresh.

All I can say is a good nap after is all you need! The food was great!
I eat lunch at Louisiana Purchase Kitchen, with friends. Food is served buffet style. Lots of good, home cooked food. Easy on the Wallet. Those folks are so sweet. They remember their repeat customers and greet us knowingly. If they don't remember our names, they remember our faces.
This place is amazing. I long for it every time I travel through NO and have to go, even out of my way, to eat it. The bread pudding is AMAZING, especially that brandy sauce they make, it's got a whole bottle of VSOP in it, I watched them make it. And the chicken, and shrimp, and cornbread, and greens... don't pass this up, go out of your way.
