The food was ok, our server and the hostess were super nice, and the restaurant decor was all over the place. Memphis teams, music, paintings, military pics, writing on the walls, not really a theme just a home town diner feel. Nice portions for decent prices. Good overall but not our first choice for breakfast.
Another great experience. We came for lunch. My love ordered breakfast, as usual, and I had te Roadhouse burger, a chili cheeseburger with an onion ring. We both were happy with our choices. The seasoned fries were definitely appreciated. They worked great with either the chili or Ketchup, or both. We will be back soon.
This has to be the HOT SPOT in Memphis for comfort food. Today was my first visit with a friend and it's ALL THAT! Tucked away in a small space but plenty of space with great food. I ordered from the breakfast menu (served all day) and it was delicious, hot and seasoned to perfection. If you're looking for a go to place for a good meal, this is it and my new spot!
Sorry I didn't take any pictures but it's worth the try!

Heard about this place from someone and wanted to try . The atmosphere was cool alot of positive words left by customers on the wall.
Jennie was our waitress she had the most amazing and beautiful personality and even though she had a full load she was very attentive and the food was pretty good I enjoyed the steak omelet.
My mom and I were looking for a breakfast place while running some errands, so glad we stumbled on Wally Hatchets! Amazing food, even better staff. Will definitely be back.
I have been super excited to go try this place because my roommate said it was amazing.
Okay, the service is amazing, yes, indeed!
Things you should know first, I am trying to be healthy again and this can be difficult in Memphis.
So the options for unhealthy are amazing! There are biscuits and gravy, fried this and that. All very tempting but I went with the motel California. It has all the things I like, scrambled eggs, chicken, avocado, spinach and potatoes. So I’m pretty excited and it was nothing of what I had hoped. Very dry, and tasteless. It was almost like it was pre made and was sitting under a heat lamp for awhile.
So there are a lot of things that could have happened, they were extremely busy. And I’m pretty sure this is not their signature dish.
I will go back to try them again because if a place is busy and the staff is overwhelmed, things can happen. I would hope that they could add more spinach.
Other than that, Wally Hatchets is a fun environment with writing and Memphis art on the walls. Definitely go there for comfort food!! I’m sure it is excellent- my roommate said so!!
We came to this place on a whim, we were so happy to find a great breakfast place so close to home.
This is a spot owned by veterans and honors them, but they had some great service and even better food.
We loved their drinks too!!! Even the bloody Mary’s!
Their walls are similar to Hueys, where you write on them. That’s also kind of cool.
Went for breakfast/brunch with the family. The food is great and also very filling. Specifically I got the BYOPancakes with chocolate sauce. The pancakes were HUGE. I have a small stomach so I could only get through one before I was full, which was sad because they were so good. Service was great, not exactly quick because they were extremely busy but our server, Zach, wad very nice and showed great hospitality. It was very loud but that's expected when a place is busy. I was on the edge of getting overwhelmed from the noise a few times but I was able to pull through
Editing this to add that we did get a box to take home the rest of the pancakes
Wow!! What a Gem! One of the best local breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. Great service, fun decor, and DELICIOUS food! We ordered the BBQ omelet (I’m 901% recommending that to any Memphian worth their sauce) and the “Pour some Gravy on Me” biscuits for anyone looking for a hearty meal (get it all the way with cheese, tomatoes, and green onions). The BBQ omelette also came with some GREAT breakfast potatoes and a fluffy biscuit.
We came for breakfast, but we’ll definitely be coming back for dinner too!
Proudly Veteran Owned.
Delicious food, amazing staff and customer service. You feel like you are part of the family. The owner Torrey is friendly and approachable and has some great stories. This was our breakfast the anaconda cheeseburger omelette and just a chicken fried steak with sausage gravy. Both yummy and filling. We highly highly recommended Wally Hatchet’s for both a wonderful meal and a pleasant experience.
