When most people think of down to earth local restaurants in Memphis its barbecue. I think of this. Great family atmosphere and the best food in Memphis. Though it may not appear much, this place is great. The Voodoo Wings are some of the best wings you can get, the burgers are delicious, and the french dip is also good. I would highly recommend this place.
I had the chicken jambalaya and every bite was better than the last an explosion of flavors in your mouth. Red beans and rice also very good. If your into wings I recommend the blackened voodoo wings. They are now accepting debit and credit cards so you don't need to find an atm for cash. Get there early as they get crowded fast. The only negative is that they aren't open past 3pm or the weekends.
Stopped in for a quick bite last week. My first time eating at courthouse, and cant wait to go back! French dip was excellent, and a sandwich, side, and drink runs $8.50, which isn't bad being in the heart of Downtown Memphis.
Great food! You have to try the Gumbo! The service is great and very friendly, and food comes out quick from the kitchen. You need to try it, oh the Italian sub or ham and Swiss subs are amazing. THERE IS A REVIEW THAT SAYS CASH ONLY, THEY HAVE ADDED A CARD MACHINE!
This should already be on your regular lunch rotation if you work downtown.

Blackened chicken sandwich and fries is the way to go. The crawfish gumbo is another popular favorite.
Best deal in downtown. Cash only is a negative. Fast friendly service, small space limited on seating. A noontime favorite for locals, very worth the trip, take out available. Crowds are served quickly so do not let long lines scare you away, it moves quickly.
PHENOMENAL voodoo wings! The staff is so welcoming, remembering my name and asking about my work everytime I go in. They are caring, quick and inexpensive. Fully recommend!
My first time here - the chicken salad was great! Nice folks and fast service -limited seating though.
Really good food and VERY reasonably priced. Prepared quickly. The burgers are great.
One of my favorites. This is a little hole in the wall and the food is not pretentious in any way. But it always hits the spot.
