My sisters and I had the great pleasure of lunch on Friday! I had alligator chips and gumbo, my NY sister HAD to have a BBQ and Lil' sister had a Caesar salad!!! The food was so delicious!!!!!!! And our server, Jackie, was very sweet and did a great job taking our orders and delivering the awesome food! The ambiance inside was wonderful! If I am ever in Memphis again, Kings Palace will be my lunch stop!!!!
Great customer service tonight. They have the best crab cakes and the pulled pork sandwich was really tender
Beale St can get LOUD. Kings place featured a fantastic solo blues musician which allowed us to talk and eat. BBQ Kings platter was fantastic. Prices fair.
A blues bar bang in the middle of Beale street; this retro cafe has everything from craft beers to authentic southern delicacies!
We started off with southern fried green tomatoes - crispy on the outside and soft and juicy inside; served with a sour cream dip! The local - golden ghost ale from Memphis was a great accompaniment to the fried tomatoes..
Though Kings palace has a wide rate of comfort entrees including the gumbo- their shrimp and crawfish étouffée is not to miss. Served with bread and rice, the étouffée was good balance of spiciness and warmth. The only let down was that they don't have a good choice of desserts..
Overall it's a very retro, laid back place which isn't going to burn a big hole in your pocket.
Awesome. Had the Cajun Tasting Plate and apple pie with icecream. Great, friendly service. Was offered taste sampled of the gumbo and étouffée. Yummo
The staff was super friendly and joked around with us for a bit when taking our order. I got the ribs and can only say, "Wow!" They were amazing! The live music was excellent and everyone had a good time.
Barbecue Spaghetti. The tomato-based BBQ sauce with onions and red and green peppers was spicy. The pulled pork was a bit charred and moderately tender with decent smoke flavor. Overall, it was pretty good. My only gripe was the long wait (twenty minutes or more) due to the "cafe" having one server/bartender working the floor.
This is a cant miss for cajun cooking. The gumbo wad outstanding. Had the cajun combo, had to be one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Service was fine and very helpful.
I really enjoyed the voodoo chicken lunch. Marinated but unadorned chicken with unadorned vegetables plus seasoned potatoes and seasoned bread. If you are traveling and trying not to accumulate too many calories, try this dish. Just go easy on the bread and potatoes.
I barbecue, therefore I am. On a recent road trip, my girlfriend and I decided to stop in Memphis for a bite to eat. We ended up being invited into King's Palace Cafe by the hostess. We each ordered ribs and a few sides-We both really liked the ribs. The service was friendly and quick. What more can you ask for?
Stopped by for breakfast. I loved their pancakes!
Best food on Beale. Great place to cool off and eat great food! The door guy lured us in out of the Memphis heat. He assured us Kings Palace was the best food on Beale Glad we listened to him! Great food, good music. A taste of New Orleans right in Memphis. Next time you are on Beale Street listen to that friendly guy at the door and let him lead you in!
Dreka greeted us on the street we shopped a few min came back here to eat. To say it was DELICIOUS was an understatement. Kayla was our waitress she was great. There is such wonderful ambiance here. You can just sit there and imagine the worlds best blues players playing here. It's decorated with great pics, posters and awards.
We had catfish crab cakes. BBQ pork sand, fried green tomatoes and La. Alligator bites. And talk about good portion size It's over the top.
Dreka checked on us many times. What a great personality. Kayla was super attentive and very knowledgeable about the foods. The cook walked out and we all complimented him on his works of FANTASTIC food all cooked perfectly. Can't say enough about this place. If you're on Beale St in Memphis, Tn this is a must. You'll be glad you did.
Thanks to all at Kings Palace Cafe for your kindness and great service and food. We appreciate you👍👍
Fabulous bbq (the best I’ve ever had!) and a must stop while in the area. We walked up and down Beale St before deciding on this place.
Service was just a bit slow and we had to go to the bar to get the waitress’s attention to order. But it was worth the wait.
We had the Crawfish and Shrimp Étouffée, Memphis Style Ribs, Champion Gumbo, and Pulled Pork. All were delicious.
The Gumbo and Étouffée had just the perfect amount of “heat”.
The BBQ chicken breast was dry and seemed overcooked. It didn’t have any sauce and was served over potatoes with just seasoning. The rice that was served with the catfish was undercooked and actually crunchy.
For desert we had the Pecan Pie, which was clearly store-bought with a side of cool whip. The desert needs to be kicked up quite a bit to be on-par with the meal. Skip desert and grab an ice cream or homemade brownie sundae down the road.
They offer Banana Foster cake on the menu but the waitress said they never have it.
Overall a great meal that could be better with just a little more attention to detail for the price.
We had gumbo and etouffee and it was AMAZING!! Best we have ever had. We highly recommend this place! The wait staff was great! Very accommodating and pleasant.
We will be back!
We came during a non peak time. Service was friendly but didn't get our order right. Gumbo was legit, perfect heat level and flavor. Came back to ask if we wanted grilled or fried chicken on the Cajun salad. Said grilled. Came out fried anyway. And got the dressing wrong. Wasn't bad, but no Cajun flare like the name suggests. Fried green tomatoes are worth it.
Dined with a great blues band. The staff were very helpful with the menu and drinks..
The restaurant has a local clientèle which is always a good sign.
I had alligator here and it was awesome. I had tried alligator in the past and obviously the cook who was me didn't know what he was doing. But these people do. It was a great place to stop and have a great lunch. Highly recommended by me
Jamie was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I have been to Memphis many times. I brought my wife for her first trip here! Jamie was such an amazing bartender and such an absolute sweetheart! She made my wife’s first time in Memphis so good! So good in fact, that she has asked to only come back to the tap room! We will be making many trips back from St. Louis to see her! Thank you again!1
Highlight for a trip to Memphis! Ribs, Gumbo, BBQ, Chicken, Seafood, Drinks, Live Music you can't ask for more. On Beale St and the music pulled us in. The service, live band and atmosphere kept us there all night! My new favorite spot in Memphis.

Had a BLAST! Enjoyed delicious food & good ol' blues music, be prepared to wait a little as this is a popular place.
Our bartender Kim was the best. I literally want her to be my bartender EVERYWHERE I go! She was extremely personable and inviting. The way she comes up with different drink combinations was phenomenal! I hope the "milkshake" makes it on the menu. It's a game changer!
