We were headed south through Georgia trying to stay off I 95 but east of Atlanta. We stumbled into Big Kev's for a late lunch and boy were we lucky. The pulled pork sandwich hit the perfect sweet spot between hearty pork flavor and succulent mouth feel. There were no dry meat strings and no globs of fatty gooo --- just juicy, meaty, succulent flavorful mouth fuels of chewing extasy. But that wasn't what made Big Kev's stand out from other BBQ places. His sides are above the fray. I love Brunswick stew so I ordered a side. Perfect - in the background a hint of bone broth flavor but up front taste of corn and chicken perfectly seasoned to give it a hint of pop but let the natural flavors rule. I wanted to try the okra, catfish sandwich and cole slaw (that my wife said was so good that she didn't want to share it). But time was short and the generous serving left me stuffed, so we moved on south.
I had a sampler of pulled pork, catfish and beef brisket with sides of Brunswick stew and fried okra. Everything was excellent. The stew was especially like what i grew up with. The okra seemed to be breaded in house and was perfect. The beef brisket was simply the best I have ever had anywhere.
This place is a local favorite that is welcomed every year with open arms.
This year they have some new options which I enjoyed and the time from payment to getting my food was extremely quick!
I ordered a Brisket Burrito (first time seeing burritos on the menu so I had to try one - they also have chicken and pulled pork options) and a pulled pork sandwich. Both were very yummy, although I will say I feel their sauces might have been better in previous years. They seemed to have too much molasses or cumin in them and the taste was slightly overwhelming. Sauce aside I love this place and would certainly recommend.
Wow. A big part of my trip to PA was the excitement for East Coast BBQ, and Big Kev’s more than satisfied my craving.
I tried almost everything - from pulled pork to ribs to brisket, mac and cheese, smoked corn, cornbread… every single thing is great, with the pork lacking in flavour initially but that’s what you get a couple extra sauces for, however: the brisket, and especially the burnt ends if available, are the showstoppers. Absolutely delicious and utterly satisfying in both flavour and consistency, these items are a must get when you’re there. I never had better.
They accept cash and card, hand out as many sauces and utensils as desired, offer on-site seating and friendly faces and quick service to boot. This is a five star BBQ spot if I’ve ever seen one.
I was today Sunday, they are the best, the best in bbq. you must try everything, because it is too delicious and the attention is fast and excellent
What an awesome place! Donovan and his team smoked us up a wagyu brisket and a pork butt and both were outrageous. We fed a good 20 people with this and there were even some leftovers for later. The meats were prepared in the most professional way, and the result was just amazing. It honestly was the best brisket we ever had, and the pulled pork with Big Kev's rub was tremendous. 5 stars all around!
I had the baked potato with brisket and a side of beans & corn bread. Everything was delicious! Quick service, nice people and great food.

Delicious BBQ - we got the brisket, chicken, mac and cheese, and cornbread. All really good. The mac and cheese was some of the best I've had! Food is cheap and people are friendly. We will be back!
I have to amend a review I made previously giving Big Kev's a less than stellar review. I went back last weekend and had an amazing experience. The food was delicious, the service was fast and friendly, I was really satisfied with everything.
The best bbq around. Big kevs never disappoints. All the meats are incredibly bbq’d, big fan of their brisket and chicken. Try their loaded potato if you want a real party. Everything from the beans to the slaw is A-1 caliber goodness. My taste buds dance every time I eat here. Just good food for the soul. Been coming to Kevs since he almost opened. Big thumbs up always guys. Best bbq always.
