Love love this place! Gyros are the best and all of their baked goods too!! Went there yesterday because I was in town from Fondy and needed one of their gyros
my lil hook spot ; if you need a quick lunch or slide through People Bakery on the east side
The restaurant is decent one. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Food is great. Service is great. The owner serve you directly. Great!
Early morning donuts are great here, but the real treat is their gyros. $5 ($6 with fries) is an amazing value (they really ought to raise their prices). I've not sampled the rest of their menu, but the gyros are strong enough to recommend this place. Nabil and Sarah operate one of my favorite neighborhood eateries.
Note: if you've had People's Bakery gyros at events like Great Taste, please know that they are often serving bulk, prepared gyros and not the more delicious variety available at their store.
Always good, and very reasonable prices. Only have eaten lunch and dinner, never had the bakery items. I usually get the gyros sandwich with french fries and it always fills me up. It could usually use a little more tzatziki sauce and tomatoes, but there is plenty of meat and the pita is always perfectly toasted. I don't know why the place isn't packed all the time! 4.5 stars for now.
Finally made it to this place. Got the gyro sandwich with fries. Gyro sandwich is $5, fries are $1.50 but only $1 with a sandwich. So $6 sounded like a pretty reasonable deal. I got the order to-go so of course I started munching on the fries. There were an ample amount, but they were not very good. They were hot, but they were limp and soggy. For just a buck extra, I would probably get them again to give them another chance, but if they were the same I would no longer get them. The gyro sandwich seemed as it was of average weight. I wasn't expecting that much after my experience with the fries. I was wrong. When I went to eat it, it was bigger than I had expected. It was also piled high with gyro meat. It was very filling and good. The only drawback is that I am pretty sure they use Kronos for the gyro meat. I would prefer homemade of course, but pretty much every place that serves gyros uses Kronos so I am not complaining. I had contemplated getting the gyro plate for $9. As I waited for my order, I saw a few gyros plates come out and actually wish I had gotten that. There was a lot of food and it looked great! So basically the fries were a "1.5" and the sandwich was a "4.5". I will recommend People's Bakery to people and plan on getting the gyros plate next. I also predict I will be editing my review and upgrading them to a 5 star after that. Who cares about the fries when they have so many other good things that come with the gyro plate???
Absolutely love this place. 100% Authentic. They have the best cream cheese donut along with a variety of other sweets and donuts. Their gyros are amazing. You can dine in or take it to go.
Highly recommend their gyros, falafels and apple fritters! Super cheap and their fries are crispy and slightly seasoned and you can add them to any sandwich for only $1! Owners are very friendly and if you’re crunched for time, simply call ahead. There is limited seating, so I recommend taking it to go.
The staff are exceptionally friendly. I've only gone for donuts but that's enough to keep me coming back. They're so fresh and perfect. I highly recommend them! Hoping to try their meals some time soon too.
All you have to do is eat here to know why it is so good ! I had the kebi potatoes and thought they were great! I would recommend the falafel made by Janet . It is some of the best I ever had. Really small inside so come early if you're eating in, worth the wait though. You can tell it's good because all the locals stop in and know the owner , and the owner knows what they are having!
