We came in for Sunday brunch before heading to see a play at Lubbock Community Theatre. The restaurant was fairly busy with the ' after church crowd' but service was prompt and our food came quickly. We both tried a selection off their brunch menu and were not disappointed. Meals came with our choice of drink also off the menu. We chose Bloody Mary's which were tall, cool and refreshing with just the right amount of spice. Will definitely be back.
The food was very tasty and the environment is great. Perfect for a date night. Had a $12 margarita that was a little small for that price point. I also had the 2nd most expensive item on the menu and while it was quite good the portion was a bit small for the price. Overall its a nice place but a little above my desired price range for the value. The manager comped our desert so that took this from a 3 star to a 4.
For a chain restaurant in Lubbock's competitive hospitality market, Cantina Laredo does well. The salsa is made from scratch daily, in regular or Chipotle, and the tableside guacamole is obviously fresh. The food is of good quality and the friendly kitchen staff are visible from the restaurant in a panoramic window.
Sadly, our server and a list of support staff didn't know which dish was which or who ordered what when the food arrived, but it all looked great. The interior decor is excellent, the bar is beautiful, and the owner is a good citizen. Make Cantina Laredo a regular stop before or after a movie at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.
Follow the ratings here I decided to give it a try. Definitely well worth the effort. Food was amazing. Salsa is different than any I’ve tried. Very delicious.
Environment was nice, new, clean and service superb. Not many at this early lunch time but very on top of things.
This was are first time here and we were amazed by our waitress. She (Nicole) was extremely friendly and went above and beyond during our time here. The food was good for Tex-mex.
Nice ambience-I've been waiting for the chance to use that word- in a laid back restaurant. Great for a date or a nice family dinner. I had steak quesadillas that practically melt in your mouth with a flavor explosion. My nephew had the Pollo Asado with corn and black beans. It was delicious, too and very generous portions. The drinks!!! We both had margaritas- with a shot of tequila in a lime cup! and mojitos, both excellent. Will frequent often
Went for brunch and had the Crabcakes Egg Benedict. This restaurant is on the upscale side of things, but has a very comfortable atmosphere. The service was attentive and good, something I believe is hard to find in Lubbock. Cooks are also good, I asked for my eggs medium and they actually came out medium, also something hard to find in Lubbock. This place is a great place for a little more than casual lunch or a nice dinner. I recommend their drink specials during brunch, mimosas or bloody marys come with meal for first drink and are very inexpensive for additional. Great experience, not extraordinary, but definately worth good to and going back to.
