Their food is SO authentic and delicious, and they always take the time to point out which foods are (or can be made to be) dairy free.

Reminds me of busy, family-filled restaurants found throughout India: Amazing flavors and smells, North and South selections that are all done well, friendly and quick service, and comfy booths and large tables that make it easy to eat family-style and share dishes.
"Probably the best Indian restaurant in the United States." Please don't be surprised with this line. I am a big foodie and I ate at multiple places in New Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore. I was badly craving for nice Indian food after coming to US. But to my surprise, Bawarchi not only exceeded my expectations also won my heart.
I highly recommend you to try!
Simply delicious Indian food with generous portions at a great price. You get a 5% discount if you pay with cash.
Apart from typical Indian sweets, they also have fusion ice cream flavors like pan masala ice cream (amazing), malai kulfi, rose etc.
They also allow you to customize how spicy you want the dishes.
We got the Vijayawada briyani, chicken chettinad (spicy) and chicken majestic (an uncommon Indian inspired dish). All three were phenomenal and we were very happy. The ice creams were also pretty good.
I absolutely love Bawarchi Biryanis. Their food is mouth watering good. I don't handle spice well so this place is a challenge for me, but the runny nose is so worth it! The must haves here are their dosas (I always get the potato, but I'm sure the other ones are just as amazing), the mango lassi, and the hakka noodles (to ease the spice). Everything else is also amazing. The ice cream is delectable, but I always go for the mango lassi as my treat. My advice here is to just order what ever you want, it's all amazing! If you are like me, order no spice/mild. It's still gonna be very spicy. If you love spice, a medium will be perfect.
I come to Bawarchi for their biryanis and dosa. I tried their tandoor chicken once and was not impressed so I just stay with these two dishes. I noticed most of their Indian customers usually order dosa and biryanis too.
I have never been to India, but I heard dosa is a common dish eaten for breakfast. It is a giant crepe maybe 18" round, usually folded or rolled up and is make from lentil flour and some also have farina flour.
I tried almost all the dosa on the menu. I like them all, but my most favorite is the chicken tikka dosa, then the spring dosa which rolled up with lots of veggies, the the masala dosa which has potatoes. The dosa usually comes with 3 different kinds of chutneys and a curry soup. My favorite is the white one which has coconut and ginger.
Their biryanis are also awesome but very spicy. The reason for 4 stars is the service is usually so so. I highly recommend coming here for the dosa.
This is my favorite all time Indian restaurant. We live locally and get take out at least a few times a month. I love the Bawarchi Biryanis as a staple and then we try something new every time. Had dinner with friends at the restaurant recently and had a great time. The Dosa was a hit and the staff was friendly and efficient.
I would rate this place very highly. Because food was very delicious and we felt like eating in India. Both chicken and mutton pepper fry was very tasty and my kids were liked it lot. Also very reasonable prices. Thank you.
It has been a while since I have tasted a good Hyderabadi dum biryani. It really hit the spot.
