11-28-22 about 2:25pm: Inside still closed to dine in but able to come in and order. Wanted to try something not back home and had good reviews. I tried the shrimp and fish combo along with cheesesticks. Lady at the counter was helpful as I've never been here, being from Dallas and here for work.
Shrimp was great.
Fish was good.
Fries were lukewarm so meh.
Big hushpuppie was ok.
Cheesesticks were ok.
Sweet tea was great.
I'd recommend the shrimp and a sweet tea personally.
I have a lot of nostalgia about this place. Grew up eating their fish sandwiches. Moved to Florida 16 years ago and still crave them. Had to have one before I left Louisville when I was passing through. Fries are better than they used to be but the fish is still yummy.
Went there twice recently, got the Bratwurst one time and the Whale of a Sandwich the next both were just like I remember them, nice n yummy! So are the Hushpuppies
I like a lot of tarter sauce and they have an ample amount always available from the dispenser near the tables - wish they had one for mustard for bratwurst.
But I loved it! It is in a nice spot you can sit at window counter and watch traffic go past.
They have one of those old City of Louisville posters which are fun to look at.
Not fancy, but it was certainly very good! The staff was friendly and help steer me to the right menu items for a first timer. Looking forward to indulging in some great fried fish next time I am pass through town. And, oddly enough, the fried green tomatoes were outstanding!
Love their fish sandwiches. I hit this one up when I fly into SDF... 5-10 minute drive from the airport. Old store, not the cleanest feel and not in a great neighborhood, but I get it to-go and the staff is always friendly.
Box for two! Love the crunchy batter. Fish was a little dry but still delicious. Hush puppies amazing! You can get onion rings instead of fries with no upcharge. 🤗
Store is old and drab. Food is great. A little pricey, but im old and like cheap places. Lol
Slow with orders and slow getting food. Don't be hungry, the wait is long. But your food is real hot 🔥🔥🔥
Service was great very nice people! Fish and shrimp is a good size portion. Don’t order the brat it’s not worth 3.99. Cheese sticks were good.
close way to early and if you come in 20-30min before closing and they dint have something ready then they are not going to fix more. Patio is filthy but food is tasty and quick. Tge kids working up front are great but the woman on grill. She a entirely own topic that needs rated.... lol
