Uptown Cafe has been one of my favorite Louisville restaurants since my first visit in 1994. The grilled chicken sandwich and homemade chips at lunch are my “go-to”—so yummy! Dinner is a more difficult decision—some of my all-time favorites include the salmon, the linguine with sesame chicken broccoli and the wonderful chicken piccata. All are just delicious! The daily specials always make the decision more difficult, however! When in doubt, go with the burger—hands down one of the best in town. I’ve honestly never had a bad meal there. I love the bar area and have always had prompt, friendly and helpful service, day or night. Whether I’m there with friends or work gatherings, I always leave happy. Thank you to everyone at Uptown!
I love the Uptown Cafe, the food is delicious and the staff are friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend the fish tacos, the Uptown burger and any of the small plates.
My wife and I stopped him on a date night to have a cocktail. We were both overly impressed with the environment and the cocktails. This is one of the places that has still kept a reasonable price point on some good craft cocktails. Can't wait to go back there for dinner
Loved the stuffed mushrooms and side of blackened chicken I had last night. Very tasty and delicious. Server was great and very attentive to our group !
My husband and I were in the area and decided to come to Uptown Cafe for lunch. Although it was almost closing time, Jon-Mark, the General Manager welcomed us. We were not rushed. Our waitress was amazing and the food was delicious.
We would definitely be back!
Great dining. Uptown has been in business for years due to the great food and atmosphere. The menu has many options, but all of those options have a delicious variation, grilled salmon with Wasabi infused soy sauce avant garde, highlighting the dish. New special entrees weekly/monthly will make a revisit appealing. The bar is well stocked and specialty cocktails are well designed, or you can choose from the wine/beer lists.
During a last minute change of plans I walked into the Uptown Cafe. It’s such a charming place! I was quickly greeted by Michael and Micah. They are very friendly and accommodating. The salad I ordered was fresh and delicious!
- Thank you!
My wife and I love the Uptown and we have for years. That said, the menu needs an update. Maybe we simply go too often. They do offer specials, but I would encourage the restaurant to explore more creative options. The service is always excellent, but the menu really needs an update as it seems limited and old. Overall, the Uptown staff does a great job.
The first clue that this place is amazing is everyone over 75 comes here dressed to the 9’s. If you want a kid free night go here, it’s quiet, every waiter we’ve ever had is so kind and funny. The food is always some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Favorite place in Louisville
First impressions were good, super friendly people with a very relaxed atmosphere. The draft beer selection was minimal but plenty of delicious looking cocktails. I had the Basa Fish Tacos, the texture was great but lacked in seasoning, very bland. My wife had the Jagerschnitzel which was fantastic! Very tender, cooked perfect and the mashed potatoes were amazing. All together it was a good place to visit in one of the best spots in Louisville.
Had the Mixed Greens Fruit Salad with melted Gouda, It was Awesome, I killed it! Sarah was very professional and informative with a great vibe!!"
Great atmosphere, service and the food was delicious! My glass of water was never empty and our waitress Ashley was phenomenal. I’m a vegetarian and they had so many options on the menu. I had the vegetable stir-fry with fried tofu and it was so good [Pictured below]. It is a tad on the pricey side but you get big portions with lots of flavor. The clientele was older but it was not a problem.
