Parmesan fries.... by what I've read about crack, these are the crack of fries. Eat these once and you will be addicted.
Their sandwiches make anything KFC or Popeyes has on their menu look like nothing.
Add a always friendly crew and great management, you have my favorite chicken place in Louisville.
I really like this place, almost love it. It's a pretty fair value for the price, it doesn't look like much, but I always leave stuffed. Just good comfort food.
Other then KFC I had never had hot chicken. Although a franchise chain Joella's doesn't disappoint. I had 3 jumbo chicken fingers with the tweeter hot and with BBQ sauce. You can choose from 4-5 levels of hotness. I also had potato salad and green beans. Another nice touch is fountain sodas they have. All are unique and tasty. This is a great place for lunch and it was crowded. Highly recommend
Good food, cool spot, fast service, great flavor, great menu, Downside small portions for price, expect to leave hungry. With price points where they are, expecting more.
This is one of the favorite place of my daughter. She loves chicken tenders. They serve their own sodas which are very refreshing. Kids will enjoy this place.
Went twice in a weekend while visiting L'ville. Really enjoyed. Had the quarter white, hot spice level, it was delicious. Also had the chicken and pimento sammie, also hot level. Wow! As for sides, tried the parm garlic fries, mac n cheese and black eye pea salad. All were tasty. They serve beers in a can/bottle and Boylen sodas on tap.
Visited here recently for a Sunday lunch with a friend and around 1 PM the place was packed. The line moved fast though but there's very limited seating inside on a hot day. Service was friendly and food arrived fast to our table. I ordered my chicken hot and it was! The only bad part about having the chicken immersed in sauce is that the crust gets soggy. But the taste was still good. I thought the sides were as good as the chicken though.

Joella's is delicious if Nashville style hot chicken is your thing (they have lots of different options so you can get anything from plain to sweet to barely hot if if you want) ....on my last visit I got the Fried Chicken and Pimento sandwich OMG its GREAT!!! (please give it a try) .....my only negative is that I just dont like their fries, they are tiny, soggy with little taste (Owners...please get with Indies and borrow the recipe for their amazing wedges)
Great flavored chicken with varying spice/heat levels. Sure, they probably aren't the best at hot chicken, but they do good at it. Glad they brought the flavor of Nashville hot chicken around here.
Deliciousness!!! Everything was wonderful! Long lines and minimum parking! Worth the wait and off site parking spot! You must eat here!!!!!!!
Really good fried chicken from a QSR. Garlic parm fries were crispy. Fried pickles were so-so. Pretty normal mac and cheese and mash potatoes. Loved the sweet tea.
Quick and friendly service. Loved the ambience. Could do with a bit more frequent cleaning of floors, tables and toilets.

This place will become a must-go for everytime I visit my family here in Louisville. The pieces of chicken are nice, thicc, and juicy. Could have been served a little bit warmer (temperature wise, you choose your own spice level).
The sweet tea is also delicious.
This restaurant has Hattie B's vibes....so if you have ever been to one of those in Nashville, it's similar. The place looked great. The food was pretty good too. The hot chicken was decent sized and pretty juicy...not the juciest I've eaten but still good. I only got to try 2 flavors & neither were hot enough for me so next time I'll try a hotter one. The Mac n cheese was good & the truffle fries were good too. I think it's a solid place for hot chicken. Definitely my favorite in Louisville so far!
In Louisville for a week and someone on our team recommended we stop here. WOW Wings we’re amazing tenders cooked to perfection. Staff and manager were very helpful he took a min to explain how they make their food. A must stop you will not be disappointed.
I got two thighs, mac/cheese, mashed potatoes/gravy, collard greens, fries, fried pickles, and sweet tea. The chicken was crispy, flavorful, and juicy! The sides were all really good but, my favorite was the collard greens (slow cooked to perfection!).
From the start, the service was EXCELLENT! 10 STARS!
I’ve been coming quite regularly to this location for some time and I’ve never been let down. All the staff are very friendly and fast. They look out for their regular customers which I appreciate. All of us at Handsome Fellows barbershop in St. Matthews love it and we frequent it weekly! Food is always spot on as well!
Best fried Chicken in all of Louisville KY. We went to 3 different top rated places and this one had the best tasting. I ordered the 3 Big Wing meal with the touch of heat sauce (Ella's fav) it was just the right amount of heat bursting with flavor. The chicken was cooked perfectly and juicy. Also props to the Mac n cheese. I also would say it was the best I had. Now I got to go back to New Jersey knowing I will not have delicious fried chicken for a while lol
Me and my girlfriend just left from a lunch date and boyyyyy that was the best chicken hands down. Definitely need to pluck the chicken and salt the greens but everything was so good. Was my first time going and I definitely recommend.
Loved picking up some chicken at Joella's (St. Matthews location). The staff was attentive and friendly. The food came out hot and fast. Everything was on point: the hot chicken, the chicken and waffles, the sweet tea, and the greens. Highly recommended.
