I took my Jamaican friend there for her birthday. The food was excellent just like my roommate makes it! It was my first time and I came an hour and 45min. from out of town. I was not disappointed with the service, the taste of the oxtail, calaloo w/ plantains, festival bread, rice & beans was on point! A large portion was what a large should be! I washed it down with the the guava, pineapple drink, (wish I had bought 2!) It was packed out on a Thursday at 2pm. Because I can't get this type of food in my city I ordered jerk chicken to take home with me that also was delicious!
I love this place. It is close, the food is good and I love the music. It would be nice if the staff at the register smiled and was more gracious, but I get it. I have never had a very gregarious cashier at Jamaican restaurant LOL.

Great Food. The best Jamaican food around. The food is delicious. I am a pescatarian and they have great options for "pescas" and "carnis" (carnivores) alike. Expect to receive generous amounts of whatever it is that you order. The ambiance of the restaurant is calm and laid back. You can sit inside or outside. On the other side of the outdoor patio, the owners also have a quaint cafe where you can order breakfast and delicious smoothies. Great place to eat.

Some people are incredibly negative and in general, hard to please. If you are a reader of these reviews, who is on the fence about whether to try out Ackee Bamboo, I leave you with two things:
1. You never know until you try (for yourself)
2. 88% rating (which will soon be higher after you try it for yourself and come back to this site to leave your rating) :)
To balance it out, I think their veggie patties could be tastier but all in all, I love their food!
P.S. The location is in South LA, Leimert Park. Not Inglewood -- for the record.
I love the food at this restaurant. I am never disappointed with the service or the menu items. My favorite is the jerk chicken with all white meat and extra gravy. I always say that I will try something different, but I always get the same thing. It is so good an juicy tender.
