A great mixed cuisine menu... you might need to use the light on your phone to read it though (i certainly did) Food was great, served in small-ish portions... it left me wanting more but that's usually a good thing. Helpful & courteous staff. I just wish it was a little lighter!
Great place for a casual dinner with friends.. A nice find. The Bowery Burger was very flavorful and the sweet potato fries were great - crispy and not greasy. My friend had the Roasted Tomato Soup which she loved and the Moules Frites which she found to be a rather small portion. The blackboard had a good variety of wines by the glass and beers. It's a pretty dark environment and got loud as the restaurant filled, but talking was still manageable. This is a nice place to bring friends for a casual dinner and drinks. The only downside is valet at $7.00.
I heard about the Bowery from a friend that travels the world and we finally met at the Bowery. Clearly one of the best burgers in LA.!!!
Always a fun 'wine-by-the-glass' wine list. Love the sweet potato fries. The place is kind small and usually packed, but the wait staff always rocks it pretty well... and has never made me late for a film at the Arclight. I do wish they would bring back their seasonal lasagna - it was pretty damn good. The vegetarians could use a few more options.
Look, the Bowery's burger is good. It's a fine piece of work, and you should definitely have it, but c'mon? Best in town? Slow down. You still got Umami across the street. (Full credit for putting down Go Burger. They won that one.) Plus, serving a Burger on a Toasted English Muffin? Not terrible, but not cutting edge gastronomy either.
Okay but the food though. Every person in my party of four forgot about their drinks once the food came out. We had gone elsewhere for a couple of drinks then found the Bowery nearby and decided to try it.. The herbed goat cheese was to die for, tomato soup for the soul, pork poutine oh my god delicious, the sliders and burgers were perfect.. I wish I had time to try the whole menu!! Go check this place out!!
The Bowery is a welcome constant in a city that has changed around it, and its burger remains my favorite in Los Angeles.
For starters, the English muffin bun provides the perfect bread to burger ratio, and the burger itself weighs in with a scrumptious thickness, seasoned perfectly, that still stretches jaws despite the muffin's slimmer profile.
This time around, I opted for a red onion compote, bacon, and avocado toppings that rounded out the flavor while adding the pretense of healthiness (onions! avocado!) to an otherwise guiltily gluttonous concoction.
But the best taste of the burger was nostalgia. When I was living in Los Angeles, the Bowery was my hang, and that burger my go-to meal for every occasion, from pre-game filler to post-debauchery pick-me-up. I'm pleased to say that the burger holds up, many years later, with the memories it surfaced serving as an ultimately fulfilling repast.
Cozy, nice staff and good food. Every time I come here, it is a good experience. They have delicious fries and if you want extra go for the gravy fries. Good burger. Great selection of liquor.
Downside is the parking. There's a parking lot behind the place, but you can't go through their back door, you'd have to walk all the way around the block. Doesn't make sense.
Known for their Bowery Burger (which is actually worth the hype) this is a really great, low key spot. While on the corner of Sunset/Vine, you could easily pass this. Don't. Great food, great staff, and perfect before a show at The Pallidium or Fonda.
Small and usually busy, this place offers a cool NY atmosphere with a limited, but tasty menu. The burger is absolutely stellar! The service can be slow and patchy due to limited staff, make sure you allow for extra time.
