Like the chicken noodle soup + kimchi/kalguksu, the best i've ever taste...hmmmm!
Good soup with dumplings and very fresh and authentic.
This is a must-visit restaurant when I visit LA. As long as the food tastes above average, I don't have to worry about the taste. On my recent visit, I was surprised to see that the prices had risen significantly. In particular, the price of the dumplings was $22 for 10 pieces. As you can see in the picture, I don't think the dumplings I received were of the quality for this price. I was satisfied with the spicy taste and generous portions of the meat noodles and bibim naengmyeon. We visited in the morning, and the servers seemed tired as they were busy. And there is an inexpensive parking lot nearby for Myeongdong Gyoza. Instead, after you finish eating, you must receive a private parking certificate from the server.
We came in for dinner at this popular Korean noodle place.
They are known for their kimchi, steamed dumplings and cold and hot noodles. We had a serving of all of those since I really wanted to have a good idea what the place is about.
The kimchi is wonderfully refreshing and crunchy. The dumplings are quite soft and a bit similar to Chinese ones, more like wonton rather than soup dumplings. The noodles were my favorite both hot and cold. I enjoyed how soft and well seasoned they were. Actually, we ordered the spicy cold noodles and they were really spicy, be prepared to sweat 😆
The best Korean cold noodles I’ve ever had in LA so far. It had the most harmonious blend of chili paste, garlic, pear juice (hope that’s where the hint of sweetness came from), sesame oil etc. - looked very red but mild in taste and just delicious - a wonderful treat for hot summer days recently! The chicken noodle soup was also a must try - couldn’t have enough of the very rich broth. Also, the arrowroot vs knife-cut noodles were perfect for each of the dishes.
I’ve ordered probably a million times from this place on doordash. But eating in was even better obviously.
The portions are HUGE. We split a bowl of their chicken kalguksu, hand pulled noodles. We also ordered a shrimp and pork mandu dumpling which came with 10 giant pieces! Everything was so good and so filling. They also give you two sides of kimchi from the start- one spicy and one the non spicy white kimchi. Everything was so delicious and came promptly.
I had the knife cut chicken noodle.
I was expecting chicken chunks in the soup but it turns out it was served with 4 pieces of dumplings and some ground meat on top.
It tasted good.
Hope to try the cold noodles next time.
The parking is across the street in a parking structure.
Very good food and service in a casual setting in Korea Town. The knife cut noodles with chicken are excellent and the bulgolgi is good, if not of the same caliber of some bbq restaurants. The servers are warm, friendly and efficient. Really like this place as it’s all around great.
Nice restaurant to enjoy Korean foods and listen to (maybe) 90s K-pop music. The kimchi is too garlic but in general, it’s a nice place.
I love this place SO much, one of my favorite casual eats in LA. I always order the knife cut noodles, spicy chewy noodles, and the shrimp pork dumplings. The combo is amazing!!!!
The broth in the knife cut noodles is so comforting and my fav hangover cure 😉
Staff is very kind. Highly recommend.
Very delicious Rice Cake Dumpling Soup! This is definitely my favorite item here. The pork mandu taste homemade and the broth is so flavorful! I highly recommend ordering this for an authentic and hearty hot soup. The Myulchi Kalguksu was just okay. The anchovy broth was very clean tasting, but too simple for me. The noodles were always just okay. A bit mushy in texture.
There was a long wait on a Saturday around lunch time, so the waiters were swamped trying to keep up. Overall, it was really delicious, but I wouldn't order the kalguksu again.
I wanted to try Korean food and I think I really like. The place was spacious and service was generally good. Ordered Kimchi Pancake and Bibimbap with Chicken on hot stone bowl. Kimchi Pancake was the best! The portion sizes are generous, specially with the soup. The food was a little bit on the expensive side but I was very happy and satisfied in the end.
