We were passing by, with a very hungry vegetarian in tow. Stopped at Valerie's because it did offer vegetarian and vegan fare. I didn't need much, so I ordered a vegan salad on rye. OMG!!! What a STUPENDOUS, tasty, yummy, gorgeous meal!! Too bad we live 8000 miles away, or I'd be there every lunch!

I didn't plan on eating here, but I couldn't resist this photogenic french toast platter. While delicious, I did find the french toast to be a bit too wet in the center. The flavors were amazing though. There are other items on the menu, but I did not venture too far from the french toast.

The breakfast banh mi with eggs over medium is a fantastic way to start the day! I can’t wait to go back and eat the same thing!!

Loved the breakfast sandwich with smoked salmon. There's absolutely no reason to wait in the long line for eggslut when you have Valerie's right next to it.

A little slice of upscale in Grand Central Market's funky eclectic eateries. The Goat Cheese and Spinach Scone was savory and delicious. The Breakfast Bowl was gorgeous and decadent! My only complaint was the Bacon Quiche wasn't hot. The coffee was great too! Definitely a must for our next stop in LA!

Lovely cute spot that we headed towards after being unwilling to brave the 2-hour(!) line for Eggslut. They have great iced coffee and a very chill vibe. There breakfast bahn mi is killer -- just the right combo of spicy and savory.

Got the smoked salmon banh mi. Bread was super fresh and crispy. Great ingredients. But OH MY GOD I got an extra spicy pocket in a part of my sandwich and I'm pretty sure I'm going to have stomach pain all day!!! Didn't deduct more for it because I'm thinking it might have been a one off..?! But it literally made me sweat. And I can generally handle spice. The other half didn't seem to have that issue (I couldn't quite finish it all, but seemed fine). The side salad had a really nice lemon citrus dressing that helped kill the spice a bit.

First time I tried bread pudding. A bit expensive, but. Wow. It was amazing! They heated it up, topped it with carmel and house made whipped cream. Sorry the picture doesn't do it justice, it was dark outside. Loved the patio option tho.
