Loved it

This was one of my favorite place in original farmers market. The food is fresh and full of flavours. We ordered the indo mee noodles platter which came with noodles, chicken sate, fried egg and gravy. We loved it. The portion is filling and once you place your order the food is served to you right on the table.

This is a unique gem located at the Farmers Market. Great food at down and dirty prices, Food from Singapore is not that easy to find and this is an outstanding find.

Wonderful Singapore, Malaysian and Indonesian selections. If you are fond of the hard to find south east asian cusines of singapore, malaysia and indonesia, this is a place you must go to. It is at the Farmer's Market and you eat on cramped tables by the fast food counter of the restaurant. Let this not be a deterent. Food is served on a banana leaf that sits on a plate and is delicious. The menu is limited, but they have a few dishes from each place. Some say, it has Indian food too. Maybe, but for that, there are other and better places. For example, their parathas do not even come close to the real Indian thing. However, good grub if you have never tasted these south east asian cusines as stated above. Do not miss the mee goreng and redang chicken.

Singapore’s Banana Leaf has been one of those places “I’ve been meaning to try” for a while now. A “one of these days” places. Well, the day finally came and I wasn’t disappointed. Not in the least. Sitting next door to Pinkberry in the outer edge of the Farmer’s Market , this place has a steady and reliable amount of business going for it. The people who eat here know their food. The people who order here seem to know their food. Best of all, it’s made fresh for you right as you order.

Another dish that we recommend is the Rendang Beef, which has Spicy Coconut, Chili, Ginger and Beef in an Indonesian Curry. It's a full dish, so order it if you're really hungry-the spices fill you up. The last dish we love is the Laksa Soup, (with Chicken) it's a noodle soup that perfect on those cold days where you feel like warming up-the coconut curry is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy, and the noodles in the broth round out the carb requirement for your daily caloric intake!

When it comes to dining out, fancy white tablecloths and a trendy ambiance doesn't always mean that there's a great meal to be had. In fact, as many of you may already know about me, I'd rather have exquisitely prepared food and zero ambiance versus a med

Malaysian here🙋🏻‍♀️ ! I was SO excited when I saw this place at the farmer market! I (vegetarian)had a laksa with tofu and my husband (non-vegetarian) had the beef rendang with rice. The food tasted good and definitely scratched the itch of my homesick! While I saw many reviews comparing them to the local Malaysia/ Singapore food, I’ll say this, IMO— Is it‘ Americanize’, YES. Is it as good as local food, NO. BUT there are still good!! Just don’t expect them to be as spicy/ flavorful/ deep/ Santan-ny as the actual local food (which I think the Angelenos won’t appreciate it). Keep in mind they accept CASH ONLY.

Really nice to have a Singaporean option, which means many different favorite cuisines at once. Overall it was good. The laksa was surprisingly bland, though, and I wouldn't recommend it.

A reliable Singaporean food spot! The workers are very nice, even when it’s super busy. The tables are kept clean and the food is always good! I usually find myself eating here whenever I’m at the market.

We went to the farmers market to try a new international dish, we are glad we visited Banana Leaf. When we went the cashier had great customer service, and offered us great advice on what to get. He also recommended we eat our meal to see how hungry we still are after eating before trying the dessert, as the dessert is large and filling on its own and we may not be able to finish it after eating. We appreciated his honesty, friendliness and kindness. This type of service is hard to find in LA, we have been to several international cuisine and they are not honest, and will still give us partially complete items missing ingredients without warning us and trying to trick us just to get money, but not Banana Leaf. We feel like they are not serving us for money, but truly genuinely appreciate us coming to try their food. The food was delicious, I recommend the dish Rendang Fish!

Ordered the singapore noodles with a mango refresher. This place is very good! I would definitely make this one of my regular goto places if I came here regularly. This is not fast food (takes about 5-10 mins from ordering to completion), but is well worth the wait.

The restaurant is flanked by copious other small restaurant/stalls at the Farmer's Market. Ordered the curry puff as an appetizer. It's very similar to a samosa and it was hot and crispy with just the right amount of spice. The sweet chili sauce was a bit of a letdown since it tasted like any other sweet chili sauce from a random supermarket. The rendang chicken was served on top of a banana leaf along with a side of white rice and a cabbage vinegar slaw. The curry was creamy and on the mild side, but the chicken was paltry and a bit dry. Overall, still a great place to visit. The person behind the counter was friendly and helpful with her suggestions.

Actually, the food is quite great, it was freshly made. The spice and herbs was on point. The service was also great. But unfortunately they lacked of the most important element in every southeast asian food: umami taste.

A good mix of Malaysian, Indonesian and Singaporean cooking. The Nasi Lamek and Beef Randang reminded me of the food I used to get when I was in Malaysia. Although they did bring down the spice and flavour to suit the pallet of the local market, it sure was a good reminder of the food we expect from the authentic kitchen.

Singapore’s Banana Leaf is inside the Original Farmer’s Market. They serve Singaporean/Indonesian/Malaysian food. I love the food, it’s delicious. It’s comfort food for me. The food is authentic no attempt to make it American fusion, thank goodness. My favorites on the menu is the Lodeh soup and Chicken Rendang, served on traditional banana leaves. They even have Cendol (if you know, you know)! I don’t think there is another place like this in LA so I’m lucky to have this close to where I live. Needless to say, I happily frequent it.
