I was in the area and have not tried this particular Zankou chicken. Who doesn’t love Zankou?
Going during lunch is definitely quite hectic, so I definitely recommend calling your order in ahead of time. They are always busy no matter what location.
Service wasn’t bad, however a little smile goes a long way. I believe they were just too busy to smile. I mean you can teach an AI to smile lol.
The restaurant for the most part is clean. I would recommend cleaning the air ducts, because it’s time. Lol. Seriously.
I got the combination plate which was steak and chicken. The steak was very tender and seasoned just right. The chicken absolutely tender cooked to perfection. The combo comes with basmati rice, pita bread, hummus, and a yummy side of the marinated cucumbers.
I definitely recommend anyone who likes Mediterranean food to try Zankou chicken. It’s tasty and reasonably priced.
I use to come to this place way back in 1997 wow long time ago this is was the first Zankou to open and the owner was very nice always there with a smile greeting everybody coming to the restaurant very helpful very nice welcoming the food is amazing. 25 years later and everything still the same. Nothing change. We have to support the locals so they can stay open. They open so many other branches, but this is, was the original one keep up the good work.

Zanku chicken always hits the spot. We usually order the chicken kabob with rice, cucumber salad, grilled tomatoes, onions, hummus and pita bread. If your hungry you can finish it all. But we order extra cabbage salad and share for 2 people. The food is good. There is parking, but sometimes it gets full. Sometimes lots of homeless asking for money or the mental ones hanging around and screaming randomly. That's just the norm for LA.

Zankou is a great place close by that serves large plates that are convenient and quick for lunch. If I'm not in a hurry I go for the kabob plate but when I'm more pressed for time the vertical meats are the way to go.
The chicken tarna goes super well with their house made garlic sauce. Sometimes they don't include it so make sure you ask. The beef shwarma is perfect with the hummus. I love getting the combo so I can go back and forth between hummus and garlic sauce.
I love their rice and the tarna/shwarma plates normally do not include rice but Zankou is great about substituting sides.
This plate fills me up so much I only need a light dinner. I skip the pita so I don't overdo it which happens anyway with the amount of food they serve. Be careful with the little side peppers. They are quite hot.
Good stop for a quick bite. Shawarma and kebabs are good. Place is very busy but very efficient service doesn’t make you stand long. Big spacious dining place and a clean restroom is available. Little pricey in my opinion
The workers are friendly , super fast the food , literaly we wait less than a minute! The falafel was great big falafels!!
We love their chicken kabab! It tastes good with or without the garlic sauce, but definitely way better with the garlic. Their cucumber salad is prefect. It's not too tangy like other other places I've tried. Their hummus that comes with the dish is tasty as well. We like this location because there's more parking and it's not as busy as their other location in Pasadena. Their prices are very reasonable also ($9.99 for the plate vs. 12.99 and higher at other places). I hope the chain plans on opening more locations in Orange/ Riverside County.
This is always my first stop when traveling to LA from the East Coast as I have a big appetite after the long flight. The chicken with garlic sauce and hummus is excellent. I usually get a side of the tabouleh which is also fresh and great quality. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu and the workers are also friendly and helpful.
Food is amazing I'm sad because, I forgot to check my food I ordered 2x combo kabob, fries and extra dish kabob and chicken kabob, and I got home and I only had 1x combo kabob in my bag, they forgot half my order and it was 2 hours since i got my food because of the long drive home and I wouldn't be back until Monday so I didn't bother because I didn't think they would believe me. But please check your food because it's soooooo delicious and they seem to completely forget half your order.
