I was beyond impressed by the sole fact that the loaded fried weren't soggy! The burger was delicious, but their packaging is what really blew me away. My food had been in someone's car for over 20 minutes, and it was still the perfect temperature.
Highly recommend the cheese steak fries. They were amazing. I got a very basic burger which was grilled to perfection, slightly pink in the middle, and topped with perfectly melted cheese, bacon that was the good crispy- not the overcooked crispy, the lettuce still had that crisp crunch to it.
I got my burger dry since I didn't know that they've perfected the delivery process.
Great food!! Service was good. Food had lots of flavor. Better bring your appetite when you get here. Only downside to this location no bathroom and outdoor seating only.
Fat Sal's over in Westwood is a nice burger/sandwich joint that's famous for their Notoriously stuffed meals that come with not only the aforementioned item, but is also filled to the Brim with other meats and sides that make any burger or sandwich a few meals in one. The Westwood location is different than the other locales in the fact that it is an outside stand only. So, if you desire indoor seating or a bathroom, then that's where things get tricky. With that being said, the quality of the food still stands up to the other locations in the chain, and since it's in the UCLA area it gets a lot of foot traffic. If you have a hearty appetite, this is definitely worth your while.
Was in LA for a couple of days and decided to try this local hotspot. Food was decent but nothing to write home about- Got a Philly cheesesteak and it was on the small side and ridiculously expensive. There are no bathrooms and outdoor seating only, which is odd and inconvenient. It's your usually grease fix, but with a hefty price tag.
Good food, fast service and cool vibe. We liked the food, but it could be a little less fatty. The cozy outdoor space they have is great, and the portion of the food is definitely good for one and even two people depending on how much you are hungry. Almost all of their sandwiches are delicious, and their prices are reasonable as well.
I tried the burger, but without the bun to avoid carbs. The salad instead of the bun is a great option. They do not skimp on the salad. Will definitely be ordering again
ATTENTION NON-meat-eaters, Fat Sals has the best-ever delicious, guilty pleasure classic burger ever with impossible patties! My husband also gets the Fat Jamie or the Fat Hot Chick, which are also 5 stars. Incredibly fast service, if we order online it’s ready faster than we can drive over.
Awesome food! Will definitely be back! That western pastrami burger is FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRE! I've never had pastrami elsewhere and wasn't sure if I'd like it, but man! It was good with a T at the end. Also got cheeseburger fries, and honestly, that's like a whole other meal on its own. Not your average fries, these were topped with an unknown, UBER fresh tasting sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, the works. I can go on and on, but honestly this is one you gotta try for yourself. Staff is clearly a well oiled team. They got our food out quick, and since it was super busy, that says a lot. I promise you won't be sorry.
Best location hands down for some great food, unlike the other fatsals this location is original with great taste, if your a student over at UCLA I’d say this is a great quick lunch spot. Happy eating !!!

Edit: I take back what I said... The Philly cheese steak is Delicious! 😋 their best sub I've had. I know it's not traditional but I recommend loading it with everything and mozzarella instead! Yum! Haven't tried fries yet!

Seriously, you may think you have Co.vid eating this thing. I've tried 2 sandwiches now and with both this could be said.
Now.. the ingredients are clearly high quality, the bread is technically perfect with with its slight crunch, yet maintaining it's softness (but still flavorless).
These sandwiches Should be Amazing, they're just Not.. all the elements are there, but it's honestly a seasoning problem.. for example, the mayo seems Homemade, high quality.. but still so.. bland.. airy? I suppose it's because they expect you to put a million items in your sandwich and don't want to overwhelm you, that may be it, but with the 2 more simple sandwiches I purchased, the turkey bacon, and gyro, a lot was left to be desired! I'd say they taste could be described as actually fairly.. clean. So not bad by any means. But if you're looking for a Burst of flavor, which I suspect most people who go to "Fat Sals" are, then you may be left thinking Subway provides that better and, for less calories! But again, the quality is actually Amazing, everything seems homemade, it just needs more seasoning Shop, and your sandwiches will be Amazing!
