OH MY GOD!!! VEGAN PARADISE!!!!
The best vegan Mexican food I have EVER had and so cheap too!!! My wig is flying! I’m in the US for a month and will definitely be visiting Hugo’s many times before I leave, thanks for being amazing:)
Huge menu with lots of great vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options! The watermelon lemonade is a must have during the summer.
Smaller dining room so you might have to wait a bit, especially if you have a large group, but it's definitely worth the wait! There's also a screened patio seating with a gorgeous waterfall fountain.
Good luck with parking.. Hugo's offers the cheesiest and most decadent macaroni and cheese I have ever had the pleasure of eating. I also discovered that when you order a mocha they use real melted chocolate in them and not powder. I happened to order one and they were out of chocolate so they ran out and bought a chocolate bar to make the mocha. What excellent services. Most places would have just said that they were out.
I love the wide array of food choices Hugo's offers and I have sampled quite a few with no complaints whatsoever.
The only complaint I have is that it sometimes get loud and difficulty to hear your table's conversation.

Our first time at Hugo's and we will definitely be back. Our family is vegan so we were very happy with the vegan options aplenty! I loved my breakfast of quinoa and fresh berries! We also enjoyed the tofu scramble .. Loved the ginger in this unique and flavorful dish. My daughter Bella had a tofu scramble burrito with Canadian bacon. Only complaint is the no substitutions on the kid menu.. The adult portions are huge for a child. Also my girls would have preferred the tofu mushed more like scrambled eggs but was still delicious cut into cubes. Can't wait to try a dinner meal there.
First time to Hugo's but not the last. a bit of a wait but i would have been worried if there wasn't. Staff was great very friendly. Food was very Fresh. I had the Mac & Cheese of course i did if its in the menu I have to have it. pleasantly pleased a nice 3 cheese blend with a crusted cheese top it was wonderful.
We Love Hugo's. Every Trip to Los Angeles includes a stop at Hugo's - Whether Breakfast lunch or dinner, this place is fabulous. EVERYTHING and I mean everything. The cuban sandwich is one of my favorites, (and I am on a quest to find a better one - But this may be the best) The Pancakes are terrific and you can custom order about anything, anyway you want. Exquisite! Go and find this place, it will be your newest favorite restaurant.
Turkey burger. Had the turkey burger with guacamole, best burger I had in a loooong while.
My Favorite Neighborhood Restaurant. The desayuno fuerte is so great and available all day, not just at breakfast. It is good with the potato pancakes, but try it with the black bean cakes instead. Topped with garlic sauteed spinach, tomatoes, parmesan, and two poached eggs. So delicious and so healthy too. I just love this place.
Good healthy food. Hugo's proves that healthy food doesn't have to taste "healthy". Featuring organic fruits and vegetables, free range & hormone free meats, and plenty of tofu and meat substitutes, the menu items cater to every taste. I recommend the turkey meat loaf, old world pasta, or shepherd's pie. Although more adventures palates might try something off the seasonal fusion style menu. If you're a tea or smoothie lover check out the specialty brews and concoctions. The atmosphere is nothing special, but the friendly staff and good food make up for it. If your coming for dinner be prepared to wait 15 - 20 min for a table. Average cost is typically less than $20 per person.
I've been to the West Hollywood restaurant a few times, but this was my first time at the Studio City location It was also my first time eating there when they actually serve their famous pancakes (before 4pm)
Absolutely fantastic place, has a wide ranging menu and caters for all allergies and all their items are made in-house. The vegetarian burger is to die for - you have to try that if you go here. The gluten free pasta is also amazing and the vegan Reubens is another favourite
Gone twice now and definitely my fave brunch spot in the valley!! So many gluten free (and vegan options). Absolutely delicious, amazing, fast service and a cozy atmosphere. I love the eggs Benedict on potato pancakes, super flavorful and filling.
Great place for every time of the day. Their food is very delicious. Most of them are already healthy options. They have breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner.
Patio outside is heated and pet friendly. It’s pretty sunny outside but great for a cold day. They welcomed dogs really well. The table near me had their furry friend fed too.
Parking was a bit limited but I went around 11am and found it’s pretty easy to find. When I leave, cara had to wait around 5-10 minutes for the space. Right off 101 freeway then turn right and sharp left.
I'll make this quick and simple as we all gotta move on with our lives. 🤙

Fantastic restaurant with great ambience, friendly and attentive service, and tons of tasty food options for vegans and vegetarians. All of the food items have clear labels for dietary preferences.
Great vegan options and super friendly staff!!!
Molly and her staff at Hugos are absolutely delightful. I always have great, quick service there, even through the pandemic. Yesterday I tried the vegan Mac n cheese and it was delicious! Crispy onions with mushrooms and peas on top gave it so much flavor and texture. The latte was so big I had to take it home to finish it. I love the taco stand too but this is a great place for a relaxing lunch with great vibes.
Hugo's has a large menu with so many options to choose from! I appreciated that there were many vegetarian and vegan options, it seemed like almost every dish could be made to suit you. I tried the pesto sandwich with tofu on ciabatta. The tofu was a hefty piece so it was almost difficult to eat the sandwich without it falling out! There was about a 15 minute wait around 1 pm on a Saturday.
Excellent service, yummy food, tons of vegan options… BUT the feeling … the atmosphere just reminds you of a nursing home: Celine dion music, carpet on the floor, lights, pale colors, wooden tables, columns, the wall and chairs… bill though 65$ for two for cups of soup and mashed potatoes, yummy (and very greasy) , cauliflower pakora, chillaquilles and beer and delicious turmeric latte. This is no place for romantic Saturday night dinners but totally a bday party or family reunion due to the versatile menu.
Highlight a cosy outdoor seating with lights and of corse a colorful mural painting… which actually lures you with cool exterior and then disappoints you with the plain seating area.
Great comfort Californian food near Universal City area. The staff is very courteous. We were there once for breakfast and the other time lunch take-out. For breakfast my wife got the herbal omelette with fruit bowl. I got the green tamales with egg & avocado along with fried rosemary potatoes. The potatoes were easily the best dish and it’s a must try at this restaurant. For the take out we got cauliflower pakora and Asian stir fry, both of them were excellent.
I used to LOVE Hugo's when I first became vegan. It's been two times in a row that my food was less than expected, kind of disappointing. However, other people's food was great! Just to name some for your reference.
Good food:
Build your own spaghetti: Their marinara was really good. They make their own spaghetti. It's chewy and sauce well-absorbed.
Tofu burger: this is based on my nephew's comments. It tasted really well, especially the tofu was marinated so thoroughly.
Vegan turkey meatloaf with gravy: it's really delicious. I remember I have ordered this at least twice, and it never disappoints me!
Cinnamon buns: super sweet. It's like churros roll up into a cinnamon bun. I love it!
Bad:
Tofu scramble: it was tasteless. Seriously. The cook simply put the tofu and veggies all together and that's it. No salt and pepper, no marinara, nothing!! It was plain and dry! Do not order this one if you were vegan.
Tikka Masala bowl. It's kinda like a "hint" of Indian curry taste but not authentic at all! I was not impressed with the food.
Other than that, the services was fantastic and food was served with great proportion.
