Great music, fantastic service and the food was absolutely delicious. The hostess was friendly, and seated our group of six promptly. Our waiter, Zach (not sure of the spelling, sorry.) who was doubling as the bartender, got our food to us in a timely manner and was kind about my kids messing with the menus.
I recommend the Sunset Burger, fries, and the coke float, but the other people in my party would recommend the Avocado Burger, Macaroni and Cheese, the Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes, and the Mushroom Burger.
Mel's is a great mom and pop diner with old school charm, and a relaxed atmosphere.
I also really enjoyed looking at the history of celebrity photos on the walls, and my kids liked the jukebox.
Food was amazing! Server was friendly and patient. Music was great! I had a grilled cheese, kettle chips and a tomato soup! Oh yes! And a open ice cream sandwich (cookie with ice cream on top and whipped cream) Definitely recommend for those who have not been to pay a visit. :)
I've been to Mel's multiple of times. I never tried out anything else except the Pork BbQ ribs with the mashed potatoes and veggies. It's smashingly mouth watering. Loved it!
The place has good music, good service, friendly waiters and a kick-ass bar.
Overall, one of the best place to grab a late night snack in Hollywood.
The dish was awesome. Tried the mels patty which tasted very nice. Place was clean. The crews were very warm and kind. My friend ordered the impossible burger which was non meat burger and he was very amazed as well, mouthwatering.
Our Favorite Mel's
This place is our favorite Mel's Drive in of all we visit every time we are in Hollywood. Ask for Piper Major she is a very funny comedian / actor who works there from time to time.
you just can't miss this place, it's located near the music school and is a good breakfast place that serves up great American diner favs. eggs, hash browns, beans and sausage. the look and feel is pretty old school and I love it.
Mel's interior and exterior is awesome, the menu offers great variety and I found the staff hospitable. My onion rings, sandwich and milkshake were all great!

Hamburger nella media, sia prezzo che qualità
Ottimi iced tea e patate dolci
Ne vale una cena per la location, anni '50 con jukebox sul tavolo e neon
Good food at good prices. Had chicken nachos and was a good first up meal on day 1. Milkshakes are very good as well. Good happy hour prices on food and alcohol
Great place to get a quick feed with the whole American theme and ambiance. Food was tasty, good portions, reasonably priced as well as good service.
This is our second visit to this Mels in Hollywood . The service is friendly and quick and the restaurant is a shrine to American Graffiti and all things hot rod. We love the memorabilia and the displays .
The food is honest type food. Their caesar salad did not come with egg or anchovies however there was a lot of lettuce !!
Great milkshakes great burgers !!
With a filet mignon banner, it seems this place is trying to be too much. It's a fun diner, no wait, above average food with great service. Toast is thick and hearty, and the meal is a good value.
The food is great. I guess the corner table behind the wall is not a good angle to sit in, because it took quite some time till they came to us. I hope it was only because of that...I would add more vegan options like at least 1 vegan sauce for the burger, optional vegan cheese to make at least 1 burger fully vegan. Or 1 appetizer. Appreciate the Arnold Schwarzenegger's menu section.
Mels drive in diner. Food was delicious, pancakes on point. 😋 $4 mimosa hit the spot after flying in first thing in the am. My kids loved all their food too. The vibe is on point. Tons of old movies memorabilia on the walls. Would definitely return if I'm ever back in the area.
Typical fast food place. Love the vibes there so cozy. Chicken sandwich meat Slightly dry but overall is nice. I prefer the fries here out of so many fast food places.
This diner is a nostalgic haven where every bite feels like a trip back in time. The classic tunes from the jukebox set the perfect mood, enhancing the retro ambiance. From the checkered floors to the vinyl booths, it's a delightful journey for both your taste buds and sense of nostalgia.
Fun restaurant with a 40's & 50's diner feel and the fact that it's in Hollywood made it feel even more authentic. Breakfast was good but for the price I was expecting more. Still recommend if you wanna step back in time and enjoy the old Hollywood atmosphere.
I love this place. Last time I was here was 20 years ago and it hasn't changed. The food was awesome.
It’s the perfect diner! David was a fantastic server, the food super tasty and plentyful and the literal cherry on top was the EPIC banana split
Traditional American diner that didn’t disappoint. We wanted burgers, large fries, American extra long drinks and we got it all!
The duke box was on, the server was nice and kept refilling our drinks for free. Service was quick too. It felt authentic and traditional and we loved it!
Classic cheeseburger + fries / 5 🌟!
Mel's Drive-In isn't really a drive-in anymore. But that doesn't mean it isn't a fun place to have lunch. They had an anniversary celebration recently, and I stopped by to enjoy a meal and help celebrate.
They have locations around LA, all the way from Santa Monica to at least Hollywood, which is where I went since it is close to me.
The ambiance is very classic American diner. They even have table-side mini jukeboxes full of rock and roll classics.
The food is lovely and well made. The burger was filling and tasty. I am a burger fan and enjoy 99% of the burgers I have, but nothing beats a classic burger topped with not just cheese but also lettuce, onion, and tomato.
They have a big, diner style menu, so even if a burger isn't your thing, you'll find something to enjoy.
I loved the place. It’s a traditional 1950’s American diner. The food was amazing and our waitress was great too :)
