Perfect for a quick bite. If you are going to get raw fish, it's a huge positive not to have any smell in the restaurant. Clean fresh air is a good sign. The customer service is quick and friendly. The prices are reasonable and the portions are good. I also appreciate that, when you pay, they don't swipe your card and then spin a screen around with a huge in-your-face automatic tip section that forces you to check "no tip" if you want to leave a couple dollars cash. Have you noticed that the suggested percentages keep going up? Anyway, there is a tip jar on the counter and, fortunately, it appeared well used. The seating on the inside is very limited, but there is plenty of outdoor seating. A few notes, they do offer tofu for those who don't eat meat. They have three levels of spicy sauces. I tried the medium and it was more like mild. Good stuff. I'll be back.
I meet friends in this great restaurant many times a year! This is my favorite restaurant to dine. I go there many times. The food is very good, the team is helpful and the cost is decent. I like going in this restaurant over a good meal.
Very nice lady who I think owns the place but maybe she's just a manager. Excellent poke! Lots of choices. It was absolutely the best I've had anywhere. Definitely will return.
Poke bowls are popping up all over the place in Long Beach. This one is Poki Star and it is a hit with the downtown workers like me. It is next to Donburi café, serving ramen and Korean food. I always get the large poke bowl ($11.99, 2017 price) that includes 5 scoops of fish: two scoops of raw salmon, one scoop spicy mashed tuna, one scoop of seared ahi, one scoop of cubed ahi tuna. But you can choose any combination or have the same 5 scoops of one fish.
Awesome place! Delicious and healthy food with reasonable prices. Very friendly staff :)
Walked by and they had a sign on the door thanking everyone for their past business but the store was now closed.
