I was out on a buffet drive, down I-64, I-75 and environs. I had done my research in advance (‘natch) and had made up my mind to go to a different location, originally, but a last minute check on YELP showed a gaggle of bad reviews lately. When they are grouped together in rapid succession, it makes me nervous.
When do You Have Chicken Livers. Tuesday is Chicken Livers Day ! They are so good.
They always have great food! I love going there with friends for some comfort food. Always fresh.
Sorry George.... I normally like this place but had the same experience as RC. An hour away from closing, 3 empty entree selections and most of the others weren't any good. Looked like they had been there all day.
And by the way, make sure the staff can answer questions like "what kind of fried fish is that?" and "what is that?"
If it's 7pm during the week and there is no one else there, RUN!

Decent food.... It's an inexpensive buffet... you get what you pay for... but all in all, pretty decent. We were there after 7pm on a Saturday and it was a little understocked but they were restocking the whole time we were there so there was plenty. I have to eat low carb which means meat and there was plenty of selection. Only one odd thing... No one knew what the fish was.
Bud and Jennifer. We went to this resturant today, ( Feb 6 ) , the salad bar appeared nice and neat, all the food bars were clean, and the food was great, everyone was ranting and raving about the food. One of our favorite places..

Lots of Good Food. We love this restaurant for a number of reasons. First of all the food is very good. Secondly, there's a good variety and choices. Thirdly, it's very roomy, clean and the service is fine. Each day's special makes it a good place to eat . The liver and onions is one of my favorites and, of course. the fried chicken is very good. Some of the best cornbread in town and we do love cornbread. . But we love it all. Our high school class reunion planning group eats there fairly often and we always hear good things from them about George's.
Great Food. We visited George's tosay for the first time. We were told about it by a co-worker who said it was great. There was a Great selection and it was buffet, so we could get multiples of all the things we liked; which was everything we tried. This place was as good or better then Cracker Barrel, we will definitely go back again.
Good. It's nice to have a place where you can go get veggies and the like. I loved the grilled shrimp on a skewer. I would love to have more of that shrimp!
Great Place To Eat. I don't know when the gripers ate at George's great restaurant but I've eaten there four times in the past two months. The buffet is mighty fine. I think the idea of the "lard" is a little bit over the top as I have never found anything that tastes like that. A group of us - sometimes 8 to 12 of us - eat there once a month in the evening and have really enjoyed the food. I have had lunch there twice and been served very quickly and the food has been good. There's a number of restaurants where I have eaten here in Lexington all my life and even they have not been the greatest at time but I like their food well enough to return. I am happy that George's is available for us who like the many selections they offer.
