Detroit Famous Coney Island

I give this 5 stars, because for the niche it is in, it is top notch. Seems to be family owned. The lady said for about 30 years. They were friendly. The other customers that were there was friendly as well. Very unusual to engage in conversations with strangers at restaurants nowadays. My wife and I had eaten at this place several times many years ago. We had always liked it, but had not gone there in maybe 15 or more years. It is old style American eatery. We will be going back in a week or so. I want to try their catfish. It looked and smelled good. This time we had old style burger and fries with a drink. It was far, far better than any fast food chain. The price was very competitive. I felt comfortable. If you go expecting a bistro or something, then you will be disappointed. I will updated this once I try the fish. Oh, and my wife loves the fried oysters. I asked why she did not get the fried oysters this time, and she forgot about it when she smelled the hamburger cooking. I guess she will ask for that next time. We are 58 and 59 years old.

Great place for Coney Dogs. Friendly staff. Great menu with a wide variety of items with great prices. Very clean restaurant. You can eat in or take out or have it delivered by GrubHub!! Plenty of parking. Definitely worth eating at. Definitely recommend to everyone.
