We got there at the end of the night and the server dude (charles i think his name was) was great . He was by far the best waiter i have came across while in vegas, he made sure we was comfortable and pleased with what we ordered.
I will definitely go back just because of the service, but the food was good also, ribs where kinda tough, jambalaya was salty but overall great experience. Thanks guys
We decided to have dinner here on a whim. Monday evening 6ish pm. Upon arriving, the host informed us that the wait time to be seated would be 30-45 min. And another 30-45 for our food after ordering. They only have one waiter and one cook and a busser. The hush puppies are good! Chicken cajun pasta was delishes, recommended by our waiter. We also had the surf & and turf. The steak was cooked perfectly well. Got two clusters of crab legs good. Collard greens where delishes as well. Our waiter was Charlie, and he went above and beyond! Made sure we had drinks and hush puppies while we waited for our dinner. He brought over a slice of pecan pie, and it was delicious!!! Despite the wait times, we enjoyed our dinner.
The food was very filling plus portions were big but mac and chesse was so~ lacking in the seasoning department. Service was 5 stars cause everyone was super friendly and understanding to our food restrictions. The atmosphere was very inviting and there where photos everywhere so I feel there's a unique story to be told.
Also I ordered the jambalaya with a shrimp substitute instead of chicken.
I am from Colorado Springs and I come out to Vegas frequently to visit with a buddy of mine. He has eaten at Hush Puppies for years and every time I visit we eat here. Tonight was Exceptional with a capital E. Charles our server was phenomenal. There was a very large group ahead of us and he help get our order in ahead of the group. We then were checked in on regularly and he did a great job tending to both us and the large group. He was personable and really made our meal special. The food and atmosphere here are wonderful but with people like Charles working here it takes you from a great place to eat to a phenomenal experience. Great job Charles! I recommend everyone should eat here if your coming to Vegas.
Davida was our server and she was wonderful! She has a great energy about her and her friendliness made the whole experience better!
Before you come here check for the all-you-can-eat special of the day. Tuesday is the boiled shrimp added on to 2 types of fried catfish filets and a whole fried catfish and fried shrimp for $22! It was DELICIOUS!!! The grilled catfish needs more seasoning but was cooked well and had good grill flavor; It needs a dipping sauce or some sort of glaze.
The sides? That's why I knocked 2 stars off of the food. The rice is plain, practically unseasoned Uncle Ben's feeling enriched rice, the corn is 1/2 an ear of corn that is over-boiled and unseasoned, and the menu doesn't accurately describe what comes with the individual dishes so we accidentally ordered a side of rice when the grilled catfish CAME with rice so we had to have them take the side back.
They REALLY need to clarify what comes with the entrée. The red beans and rice would be much better if they changed to a less generic feeling enriched rice.
A plain long grain white rice would elevate their dishes by leaps and bounds with no increase in cost.
The hushpuppies were not bad but not worth the place being named after them.
Oh, and the salad bar was pretty good. I almost forgot about that.
My husband wasn't really thrilled with his meal because the sides were Meh and not worth $6/each but I ate a pound of shrimp and 3 fried farm-raised catfish filets so I left stuffed with seafood and content.
So yeah... Our verdict is that you NEED to go for the all-you-can-eat and skip the rest of the menu. If you get all-you-can-eat it's SUPER worth it!
Just had dinner here this evening. The restaurant was spotless clean. we were greeted very kindly & seated immediately. Staff was very attentive & friendly. We ordered everything from soup to dessert and every single thing was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The salad was cold crisp & fresh, hush puppies were great, clam chowder soup was super flavorful-also Louisiana soup was tasty. Fried shrimp was on point ! to top it off a slice of pecan pie ended our wonderful meal. I recommend this place as it was our first time there.
It was the first time going there with my family. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our server was very patient with us and answered our questions charmingly. The food was excellent, especially the hush puppies. There was always enough for everyone. I can't remember our servers name, but she had a great personality and made our experience fun. Highly recommend going if you're looking for Cajun cooking.
Love this place! I have been here a few times. always for the all you can eat catfish and shrimp! I love there catfish it does not taste dirty or fishy my kids even eat it! Shrimp were good! Mac and cheese was delicious and the greens were almost perfect!! Absolutely love the hush puppies!! Perfect! Delicious!! The salad bar is not the best but good enough I will say! Always pretty busy which is common so be patient the food is delicious and worth it! Customer service was nice! Hard working ladies! Love this place and will return many more times
This place has a nice relaxing vibe to it. Food is fresh and well seasoned. We got the sea food platter. You get a taste of basically everything off the menu. Asmaa and Iva were wonderful. Very friendly and truly accommodating.
Always good. We've been eating here for 30 years and will continue to enjoy the food. We go for the all you can eat catfish and usually make it a family affair. It doesn't open until 4pm and if you go on a weekend, go early, it gets crowded.
