Sarah took my order. I ordered a carrot cake with cream cheese icing. I sent a picture to be placed on the cake. I ordered blue and green enhancements on the cake. The end result was PERFECT!!! Everything that I ordered for the cake was accomplished. Cakes by Karen is the place to go if you need a special cake for a special occasion!!! The cake was delicious! I have been a customer to Karen for 44 years, first b-day cake was for our baby boys 1st b-day and then our 2nd son 40 years ago and every grandchild, my hubby and myself. Our experience with Cakes by Karen Lakewood was great. The cake they made for my son's 3rd birthday was exactly what he wanted it to look like and it was delicious.
I ordered a small yellow layer cake w raspberry filling and buttercream icing for our 29th wedding anniversary. It was a last minute order and this beautiful small layer cake with really colorful flowers made of icing was ready for me the next day. It was gorgeous and oh my goodness, it was really, really good! I can't remember the last time I had layer cake this good!!! As for price, you pay for what you get. It's worth it to me to purchase a cake like this from a privately owned bakery. This is the first time I have ordered anything from this bakery and I am a very happy customer!0

I have to say they were absolutely amazing!!!! It was my first time because my daughter was getting older, and she wanted a more elegant cake. She did not want a sheet cake but a tier cake, and after reading the reviews and how long they have been in business and researching the website, I made the decision to go for it. When I arrived at the store and walked in the associate (older lady, I forgot her name, so sorry), was patient nice generous and accommodating. I told her what my daughter wanted gave me a price, and it was out of my budget, BUT she let me use her iPad so I could show her exactly what my daughter wanted. I mean, it was the sweetest person ever. I will definitely be using them in the future. I am actually planning my second daughters 3rd birthday, and I will be contacting them. Honestly, I loved them and gave me exactly what my daughter wanted. she was so surprised and happy that mommy did it!!!!!! Thank you Cakes by Karen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
